'Watch Dogs' couldn't be more relevant to modern-day society, says Ubisoft

Watch Dogs will be a modern-day open-world game that many, many Ubisoft fans have been waiting for, but it's going to be a lot more than just a vast world with detail and density at every turn, Watch Dogs looks like it has serious depth to its story. As we look at Watch Dogs' storyline and the elements Ubisoft has implemented into the plot, its hard not to see how intense this game may get at times.

It could be, but I don't anyone's willing to go that far.

It's an open world game with hacking. Think GTA or Assassin's Creed meets Ghost In The Shell. Not entirely new but not entirely unoriginal either. :P

That's why I think I'll stick with GTA V. Still not too sure about this one.

I'm not sure either lol. It's going to be a big solid rental for me. If I like it enough, I'll buy it!

"it's never too late to do a 180 " No company in their right mind would do that :)

Yeah, main character with his nose glued to the screen of his phone. That is actually a fairly accurate portrayal of modern society.

trying hard not to look at previews and interviews but its so hard i believe the developers are releasing too much information about the game.

gameslayer2411907d ago

Well even with all of the info they are releasing, they are keeping the story out of it. I personally think that using the CtOS to detect and stop crimes and learn about thousands of unique NPC's makes the game much more interesting. So far all of the interviews and previews have been about the AI and the Tech in the game. But none of it has revealed too much of the story or all of the hacks that you can do (Maybe shown 10 or so Major hacks out of the 100's" But yes I get what you mean, we had almost zero info about ISS and it made it that much more awesome!

I get the hype, but this one isn't really on my radar to any real extent.
This year, for me, is dominated by indies.

randomass171907d ago

Which ones are you looking forward to? I'm very interested in A Hat in Time and Shantae Half-Genie Hero. :)

For me, it's stuff like The Forest and then Kickstarter projects such as Pillars of Eternity(Project Eternity), Wasteland 2 and Divinity:Original Sin. I am on the PC side of things, if you haven't noticed.
Now that the Witcher 3 has been pushed to 2015, The Forest is probably my most anticipated. That said, on the console side, Quantum Break and 1886 have me very interested, even if I don't own the consoles themselves.
