VGU - Titanfall Review

VGU writes - "If you happened to be standing on the gaming train tracks a few weeks ago, you may have found yourself being crushed to death by the hype train as the 14:03 service to Titanfall steamed through town.

Rather than beast out a review in a few days, I thought it would be better to really get into the game and look at its long term appeal. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it, it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact I’ve been playing it pretty much non-stop for 3 weeks…nothing at all."

Sounds fun, I'm not really into FPS but the Titans and wall running could sway me.

Yeah, i was feeling a little burnt out with the FPS genre from playing BF4 for over 130 hours on the PS4, but TF has 'rejuvenated' my FPS love for the time being.

The free running and the mechs are what make this game. I can imagine people who don't really like military FPS's really liking TF because of the fun gameplay.

So glad this game wasn't destroyed by the hype train!

Gutted the campaign wasn't woven into the game a bit better. Those little picture-in-picture moments are easily missable.

Kinda reminded me a little bit of Brink, anyone remember that attempt at a multiplayer-solo campaign hybrid?

Never got the chance to play Brink. From what I heard it had some nice ideas but executed them poorly.

I still need to actually get this game and spend part of my year on it.

Was so good to play during the Beta.

Comparing the beta to the full game, it would seem there is quite a lot of optimisation and refinement with regards to visuals. With the same settings, the full game looked even sweeter on low than the beta. And on low, it left me wondering what max would look like ^_^
