OnlySP: Dark Souls 2 is not an easy game. Not at all. For an inexperienced newbie playing the series for the first time ever, the game might seem like an almost impossible challenge that only a masochist could enjoy, don’t worry though it’s not all doom and gloom. Here’s a few tips to help make the tough as nails game just that little bit easier.
Dark Souls 2 remains a divisive entry in the landmark RPG franchise, but Hidetaka Miyazaki believes it led to the success of Elden Ring.
DS2 was fine. While there was a bit of recycling assets or ideas for bosses, it was a bigger more open Dark Souls. The Fume knight boss is one of the hardest bosses in the series until Sekiro and Elden Ring were released.
The problem with Dark Souls 2 was the same problem when a different director takes over for a sequel to an outstanding movie. It typically (there are exceptions) doesn’t have the feel and vision of the previous movie.
I wouldn’t say Dark Souls 2 is terrible. Had Dark Souls 1 never been a thing and we got this, I think it would have been praised more. The problem is it didn’t have the Miyazaki touch to it and felt pretty derivative. The soundtrack is a banger though.
And it will happen in the future when he doesn’t touch them as he is planning on.
I like DS 2, might even be my favorite of the 3. But it's a hard sell, there's so many obscure things you need to do to make it an enjoyable experience. So always find it hard to recommend, but it is worth the trouble.

I beat them all with my fists and no hits were taken. What do you mean you don't believe me? I used a guitar hero controller!!!
All the bosses are only from Dark Souls. No Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring, or Demon Souls
Well I watched a speed runner, and I have to say use your early shards and upgrade two clubs. Them things are badass and stagger many bosses. After watching that vid, I regret being a DEX build because str looks far superior
Or buy/loot the ring of life protection and never lose any souls again, when you die the ring breaks, just go get it repaired
I've actually got 3 of these rings, and i'm still on my first playthrough, i'm surprised they haven't patched it
The game is not that hard on NG , with the exception of maybe the Smelter Demon, also...some of the god damn optional bosses are just crazy frustratingly hard ..SPOILERS............ the game was all easy for me until i reached King Vendrick, Darklurker and the Ancient Dragon then that shit took a huuuge spike in difficulty and i had to go completely naked on all three with my str build, i think Darklurker is the toughest boss i've ever beat in any game not just the series, that shit was just ridiculous once he splits, i ran out of effigies, had to buy the ones for sale, and even those i have like 2 or 3 left after killing him.
