Amazon Starts Displaying Metacritic Scores on Games' Listing Pages

Apparently someone at Amazon thought that user reviews weren’t enough to provide purchasing “guidance” to customers, so starting today the massive online retailer is following Steam‘s example by including the games’ Metacritic score in their listing pages.

How?

They can't even verify purchases on Metacritic

I don't see any sources so im gonna assume this is an April Fools Joke

Abriael1332d ago (Edited 1332d ago )

Sources? Have you tried, yanno, browsing to Amazon and looking at any game?

It's right under the title.

Kayant1332d ago

It's hardly surprising coming from Axios2 with the way he or she trolls all the time.

OT - It's displaying the critic scores not user ones. Still think it isn't a good idea metacritic is not to be all and end all to judging a game.

Bzone241332d ago (Edited 1332d ago )

It's not showing up for me at Amazon for some reason. Must just show up for some people.

Seraphim1332d ago

If you look next the Stars there is a Meta Score there. If you hover over it the box pops up. I have to say, at first I thought this was a joke, well it's an absurd joke but one that's true. I love Amazon but how this got approved is mind boggling. Hopefully they remove it.

@Abriael

I did check, BEFORE posting, don't see it

Edit: Thx Seraphim, my mistake (usually articles should have screenshots of things like that. Especially today being Apr 1st)

Edit: @Abriael Ahhhh I see you added a picture to the article, no wonder I missed it, cant hover with a smartphone

DanielGearSolid1332d ago

One more thing... Its showing the critics scores I think, so fanboys cant rig it, hopefully

xX-StolenSoul-Xx1332d ago

It shows both Critic and User scores on amazon now

DanielGearSolid1332d ago

It's officially retarded then

Great, so now rigging Metacritic scores is going to be even more crucial for selling your game.

CerealKiller1332d ago

Nope seems legit. What a shame I hate Metacritic scores.

johny51332d ago

Yay, now another way to troll the review boards...s/c

This is how reviewers on metacritic such as IGN rate games:
If published by major publisher such as EA the game starts of with a 9/10 before played. If its a good game it gets 10/10, if its broken it gets 8/10.
If published by smaller publisher (Square Enix, Capcom) game starts off with 7/10. If great game it gets 8/10, if ok gets 6/10.

Only true for the US amazon site. .Ca .co.uk etc. don't have this.
