OnlySP: Draugen is first-person survival horror game that takes place on Norway’s west coast amongst the deep fjords and towering mountains that make up the awe-inspiring landscape.
Teaser looked really good.Chalk up another to the return of the great survivor horror genre!
Looks really interesting. Loving all the unique games coming out in the next year or so.
Go Norway! :D hope they really use the great nature over here. too bad there is just sooooo much fog.... tho i guess its a horror game. atleast i hope they do the lore of Draugen right for us :D really hope they will bring out killer seals out in this one :D but i really wonder if they are going to use everything the lore says about them.....
Not too familiar with the folklore, but isn't the draugen an evil spirit that drowns unsuspecting people along the coast? And it looks like a seal?
no just no, its an undead. someone selfish that have died...... tho they can be infected aswell to turn. the lore says that they could change size at will, and using magic like shape-shifting (to a seal, cat, horse & bull), controlling the weather and seeing the future. They exist either to guard their treasure (people where buried with all their treasure back in the day) , wreak havoc on living beings, or torment those who had wronged them in life. it is also said that some Draugar are immune to weapons aswell
Jmac isn't wrong, the most known tale of a draug is that of a fisherman who drowned people at sea. But there are also land-draugs. They are reanimate corpses. Hateful undead with magic capabilities. But I think you're mixing them up with Nøkken who could transform, as I know of no story where a draug turns into an animal. Perhaps you could link to one?
a game about Nøkken would really be interesting tho :D it can be so beautiful and yet so deadly
Sorry, I was thinking about Kelpie and Selkie's are the ones that look like seals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
Survival Horror & Scary games are back! woooop! :)
Good to see games that aren't set in America also
Is this going to be yet another Amnesia clone with limited interactivity, no weapons and relies entirely on a gimicky 'light' feature? I hope not. Look, I admit this style of horror is more effective than the 'action horror' genre (see recent Resident Evil titles) and the recent surge of interest in the genre is wonderful - but they're all so similar sounding. Everyone's trying to copy Amnesia and it's getting old. It wasn't exactly new when that game did it. Not EVERY horror game has to be set in first person, has no weapons where the only source of light is from a phone, camera, lantern (or something similar) be creative and original. Routine, Alien: Isolation, Slender, Anna, Outlast, Daylight - to name a few. They all follow the same basic design. No weapons, gimicky light feature and a few 'puzzles' thrown in. It's already stale.
well light and shadows wont help you much against this monster if they follow the lore. this will be a smart monster and it will hunt you down since (by the looks of it) you are trespassing on his ground. you are always welcome to read up on the monster here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... i think its interesting that the game is even set in Norway TBH
Get ready to get SCARED! Muh hahahahahah
Very excited for this.
Dat Goats head ^^
alan wake lookalike!!
Wow so the guys who are making Dreamfall Chapters are also making this? Doesn't look that scary - looks more like a Dear Esther style of experience to be honest.
