There were rumours of a July release for the PS4 in China but we'll just have to wait and see how accurate that was.

If consoles do well there , no one really can say because they haven't been allowed before there could be a massive giant market to cash in on.

Sevir1421d ago

Exactly!!! If it performs well the formation of Chinese studios to cater to that market as well as other market coulb be formed, bolstering the PS first party house. I hope both MS and Sony make a giant splash and claim the market, it only makes for a stronger gaming industry

A massive market would be nice if the chinese start to making games for it.

Can you imagine chinese open world games from the XVI century because they have a rich history and im kinda tired of these western fantasy rpgs like skyrim and shooters

medman1421d ago (Edited 1421d ago )

I'm shocked China hasn't just taken the ps3/ps4/360/xbone design yet and made their own console, as they steal designs of just about every other product known to man and pass them off as as their own homemade products with simple rebranding. Companies can't even sue for this, because China won't allow the suits in their court system and disregard judgements against them made in US courts altogether. Ahh, the benefits of communism at work.

Jdoki1421d ago

Hang on... But I thought Sony were doomed? Surely they can't be opening new business areas.

Eonjay1421d ago (Edited 1421d ago )

The subtext is in the phrase "finalized orgizational changes" to increase focus in other areas to proceed in an efficient manner. Cut waste, make sure you have people working for you that actually produce results. Explore new opportunities and make sure you have a division capable of addressing those markets.

Business as usual.

Hawkinst5401421d ago (Edited 1421d ago )

gaming unites ALL nations!

MasterCornholio1421d ago

China dont like the US or hardware from USA.

See what I did there?

Eonjay1421d ago

Thats like saying Chinese people wont by Chinese made products.

Tapani1421d ago (Edited 1421d ago )

That is actually not true. They do not like their imperialistic history and foreign politics. But one thing they like about Japan, is the technology.

Trust me on this one. (lived, studied and worked in both countries for years, I speak both languages and studied their culture in universities).

Now that China is finally opening it's doors to new consumer electronic fronts (because they can make money out of it), it's plausible things are going to change quite a lot in the coming years in terms of market share. Asian tech and car companies are usually much stronger in China than their western counterparts. Apple is an exception, though.

EDIT: I wonder if this is april fools' though! :P

asmith23061421d ago

Sure, just let the money do the talking.

Sony computer entertainment China?. SCEC??.

I hope that this will not affect the PS brand since China and Japan were involved in sensitive issues like island disputes this past months....

SniperControl1421d ago

Why would that affect anything, people seem to forget PS4's are made in China, commerce between the two countries is unaffected by tit for tat disputes.

ravinash1421d ago

Governments like business are usually willing to overlook disputes in one area so they can benefit from another.
