The Most Popular Final Fantasy Characters of All Time

IGN's Never-Ending Final Fantasy Character Face-Off pitted more than 150 beloved Final Fantasy characters against one another. If you were faced with the tough choices - Cloud vs. Sephiroth, Tifa vs. Aerith, Cid vs. Cid - do you know who you would pick as your favorite?

It wasn't easy, but after casting more than 2 million votes, a consensus eventually began to emerge from within the IGN community. Here are the 10 most popular Final Fantasy characters, as chosen by your votes. (3DS, Final Fantasy, PC, PS Vita, PS2, PS3, PSP, Retro, Xbox 360)

Wow...the first and second ones are such a surprise ¬¬

I really feel though it's not the characters but "OMG IT'S FINAL FANTASY 7 HELL YEAH"....I mean in the PS1 days I thought Squall had better character development then Cloud.

No.

I like how you just say no but offer no reason to why Cloud is better then Squall.

Seriously you can disagree but everytime this argument comes up people either never have a reason or their reasons are crap

I liked ffviii, but I thought squall was a terrible lead character. So was cloud for that matter.

Zack kicks both their asses.
Hicken  +   485d ago
I agree with Zack being a badass, and that's part of the reason why Cloud was such a disappointing character to me. He always felt like an imitation, and he was, until the very end.

Squall, though he was unlikeable at the start, still grew to be a responsible, reliable, capable leader. He learned how to express his editions, and accept those of others. From the games I've beaten, Squall had the most character development in the franchise.

For me, my favorite is Rikku, followed by Sazh.

@Foxtrot what about Terra :) I loved her

Why don't the any of the summons get a mention???

Ifrit, shiva, bahamut, yojimbo, they've saved many peoples asses on many occasions but yet their efforts go unrewarded.

Auron would have to be my favorite because I pimped him a point to where he was unstoppable. Auto haste, first strike, counter attack, yeah sin never stood a chance.

How did Red XIII make the list?
xX-StolenSoul-Xx  +   485d ago
At least it wasn't Cait Sith, or Cait Sith 2 lol
Asuka  +   485d ago
Tifa and vivi. Vivi because he is Vivi, and Tifa for "two" obvious reasons. Still remember visiting her home and raiding her closet to find her panties.....why do i remember that smh
Geobros  +   485d ago
I liked very much Kain and Yuna, and a little bit Cecil. Though, my favorite of all of them is Auron...
LAWSON72  +   485d ago
Auron is on the list because he is Auron. No other reason needed.
