I love the fact that they are releasing GBA games and starting with some of the best on the system.

1. There are thousands of GBA games out there that would be right at home because lets face it their just like indie 8 and 16 bit games.
2. From the videos they look great on and off TV which would explain why they didn't bring them to the 3ds.

3.My thoughts is because because of the CPU architecture it is easy to get old games up and running via in house emulation which probably make the games run better.

4. If I were Nintendo no mater how much people complain I am releasing 5 - 10 games a month as you don't want to take away from the indie support.

5. My gamepad is a great virtual reality piece love the fact that it does everything and more that these headsets do.

Yeah the choice of games for the first month was key, so that it wouldn't end up like the NES getting Volleyball on Wii U.

Sonic Game Writers Had ‘Very Little Say’ On Story Scripts

The writing duo behind Sonic games like Sonic Colors and Sonic Lost World reveal they have little creative control over their game scripts.

-Foxtrot94d ago

They need to start letting people take inspiration from the comics, there's a ton of great stuff to take inspiration from.

My beef is why even hire writers if you're just going to control the whole process. I'd be very upset as a writer if someone did that. A job is a job though.

DarXyde92d ago

Performative for optics, I would think.

It's like the US Congress holding a vote to "denounce the evils of socialism." It literally did absolutely nothing about anything and was a complete waste of everyone's time (and tax dollars—which is its own irony, by the way)

Dumbest thing in the world, but if you hire writers, it looks like you made a serious effort to make something great.

Do you remember when the original Suicide Squad movie was coming out? How much did we hear about Killer Croc's actor watching cannibal videos to get into character? Or even the "incredible lengths" Jared Leto went through to personify Joker on and off set?

It looks better when people think you're taking it seriously.

35 years later, Mario 3 still does some things better than every Mario since

If all the world is a stage, then Mario is adept at playing all the roles – something Miyamoto was very keen to tell us.

3 had a good balance of difficulty before crybabies stepped in and cried about the difficulty of SMW, which is why the game was made easier before release. Would also explain why most other games have been easier except for special worlds etc.. or ones you unlock after you beat the main game.

Isn't the reason we got a Doki Doki Panic sprite swap because Lost Levels was originally deemed too difficult?

ChasterMies178d ago

This is a lot of revisionist history. All games back then had to be difficult or else they would be over in less than an hour. Super Mario 3 was actually super approachable because you could use the map and warp whistles to go right to the boss. And as with Super Mario World, you could farm stages for more lives. The beautify of Super Mario 3 was the abundance of secret areas and tools like Hammer Bros. suits. You didn’t really want to rush it. The lost levels were a different beast. They were never marketed as a mainline Mario game.

I watched an interview with a developer (I think it was for Disney's Aladdin) from years ago and he said they were required to raise the difficulty because so many games were rented back then. They didn't want the game finished quickly so you had to rent it longer. it was the home-rental equivalent of pumping more quarters into an arcade machine.

Rebel_Scum178d ago

The cry babies? It was Nintendo’s perception that yanks didnt like difficult games hence the easing of the difficulty.

ChasterMies177d ago

This is an odd statement considering the history of Japanese games that had you press X on your way to victory. Seriously, games like Ninja Gaiden in the 00s was born of the developer’s belief that Japanese gamers had grown too soft.

CrimsonWing69178d ago

Yep, it's the best 2D Mario game, in my humblest of humble opinions.

goldwyncq178d ago

Still my favorite Mario game.

SMB3 and Mario World are still the best Mario Games.

How Sonic Lost World Paved the Way for Sonic Frontiers

While a number of the games before it help influence Sonic Frontiers, Sonic Lost World acts as the blueprint for the game's open-zone design.
