Murdered: Soul Suspect will keep players guessing right through to its conclusion, according to Airtight CCO Matt Brunner, who says that, "unless somebody read a spoiler, there's no way they're gonna guess what the final element is, the final twist".

He's never been murdered in the first place.

thorstein1520d ago

I was going to say it was the player. Dun dun DUUUUNNNNN!

ZodTheRipper1520d ago

Oh well thanks, now I'm expecting a twist. How stupid do you have to be to spoiler your own game? Especially in a game where story is the most important thing?

hay1520d ago (Edited 1520d ago )

That probably means they're going with well known 'least suspected character' Shyamalan template(like Heavy Rain).

Or maybe they'll go Castlevania: Lords of Shadow way and put Satan in, this would be so ridiculous that impossible to guess.

MightyNoX1520d ago

You, sir, are the anti-M.Night Shyamalan

...was never murdered. It was suicide. Everything is concocted in his head. All the characters are plush toys from his childhood.

sinspirit1519d ago

You're actually on a computer/console the whole time in a virtual world that makes all these things so easily possible and wreak mayhem on the virtual world. Oh, wait that's just you playing the game.

UGH!!!!! I absolutely despise when anyone makes this claim, since it effectively kills the whole story (for me anyway) regardless of what happens.

Now that its been said, people will probably play the game with these things in mind...

1) Pay attention to every little detail and wonder if it will play a bigger role (BioShock), which will probably lead to more interesting theories than what actually happens.
2) If the twist is too simple, people will be angry at the misdirect. If the twist is something you just simply can't figure out because of a lack of data or completely out of left field, people will probably call it poor storytelling.

Regardless of where it falls on those two concepts, I now guarantee the twist will lose a lot of punch because people know it's coming. So what would have been this big, shocking, awe-inspiring moment is now turned into an event that people are just going to sit there going "is this going to be the twist" and when it happens, it will either be "oh, saw it coming" or "oh, I didn't expect that", instead of the "oh ****?!" response it would have gotten without this news.

Agreed. The problem is that they are in complete despair for marketing, since the previews have been destroying their product.

dcj05241519d ago

From what I saw August of last year at a private showing it looked good to me.

galgor1520d ago

Couldn't agree more. This is crappy marketing that makes me disinterested in the game.
