Rayman Legends PS4 Review | El33tonline

Peter at El33tonline writes:

"Here comes the new Legends, same as the old Legends, but with shorter loading times." (PS4, Rayman Legends, Xbox One) 4/5

I have this and play it periodically. It is really good on the PS4, the visuals are cleaner and run in 1080p at a locked 60fps, but not much different then playing on the Xbox 360 and the PS3(this is not a bad thing, as the game is astonishing looking no matter what platform you play it on). Controls, spot on. If you like Mario type games, this is probably one of the best you're ever going to play. There is absolutely no load time from screen to screen, level to level, even back to the title screen. It may not sound much for a game like this, but it makes everything feel snappy and instant. Almost like you're playing from a cartridge once again.

The game is huge. It should take you no less than 15 to 20 hours to play through and find all of the collectibles. There are also challenges, both local and online, that will keep you playing long after you beat the single player mode. The online challenge, is a mode that changes daily and has you competing against the world(and your friends) for the best time. It's very Arcade like in nature and will keep you coming back every day to see if you can best your friends score.

There are also multiple characters that you can use for each level, along with a ton of unlockables in both levels, characters and past and present artwork. Enough to keep you playing for a very long time. Which is the beauty of this package, you can buy it at the low price of anywhere from $30-$40 and get a ton of gameplay for your dollar.

If you're aching for a Mario-like experience on a next gen system, you cannot go wrong with this game. I give this game a 10 out of 10 in its genre. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous and the sound, especially the soundtrack, is amazing. It really doesn't get much better than this for 2-D side scrolling platformers.

No problem. I figure, a lot of the times people like to hear about games from other gamers mouths, instead of websites. I really enjoy the game, it's a lot of fun and it brings them back that old-school feel that most modern games don't have. Something to toss in every once in a while, when you're bored with the same old, same old. It's a really great deal for the price.

Enjoy!
