The number of console titles released with multiplayer is decreasing, says game industry market research firm EEDAR.
yes please tacked on MP was bloating budgets and killing the industry (funny thing about the article picture last 2 batman games had MP, would rather they saved the money and gave us a better SP game)
last 2? arkham city and asylum didn't have MP and knight will not have aswell only origins had and that is one game not two
Kinda good, I lost all interest in MP with MW3. While a good game, Titanfall still left me wanting more. I think Destiny will be a game changer with it's SP and MP morphed into one game play experience.
Thank God. As somebody who doesn't play hardly any multiplayer, it's a relief knowing that developers aren't pushing multiplayer on everybody. I think some games should be single player only and others should have multiplayer. Obviously COD is a great example of one that can do both, depending on the developer who is making that call of duty that year. Some better than others. Other games feel like multiplayer is pushed on the players, tacked on, for the specific purpose of adding life to a very short single player. Some games feel like single player is tacked onto multiplayer, Battlefield falls into that category. Either way, I'm glad some developers still see how important single player is to the gaming experience, in a world that seems dominated by multiplayer gamers. Hopefully this trend keeps up for a very long time. There is nothing more satisfying than finishing a lengthy single player game, with a great story.
Glad to hear this news! :D
Personally,I love this news.
YEEEEAAAAHHHH!! Good,I hope the emphasise on MP dies down. They're nearly all basically the same. Not much more than a shooting gallery. No story. No character. No emotional attachment. Just going through the motions. And people complain infamous is repetitive. Make a list of the best 20 games of all time,I bet 18 of them are single player.
I really hope so, not that I am surprised since playing MP game, you need XBL or Plus
Single player games has and will always be more prominent even though MP games are more popular in general. My opinion is that MP games cannot survive without a single player base story/concept within a game(Titanfall is a good example). I personally find it hard to immerse myself in a game without experiencing a backround story of some sort, and it has to be a good one of course(TLOU is a good example). I guess the point I´m trying to make here is that I love both but more power to heavily story driven single player games. That is where I get my moneys worth.
Single player is king. Always has been, and probably always will be. Give me a great story to advance gameplay and retain interest. You can keep your online, rinse and repeat mindless fragfest full of cheaters, glitchers, and internet fake toughguys talking trash, full of lag and chasing worthless perks and attachments by leveling up. No thanks.
