Review: Titanfall | AsiaOne

To win, the man must be one with his machine in this shooter. You are a pilot who must work closely with your mech - or titan, as it is called in this game - in six versus six multiplayer shootfests.

Not a standard review, just explains the gameplay mechanics and such for the most part. I think his opinion and verdict are sound enough though.

Funny I thought there would be more infamous reviews on this site than what there is , after recently learning about metacritic trolls I went and had a look seems like infamous is getting some retribution , as well as Metal gear ha ha some people can be bothered to pay back the low review favour. Are people making up review sites to boost or knock down scores ? ha ha ha funny stuff.

Angeljuice3680d ago

Not everyone is as daft as you.

So a fair and honest review by someone who is obviously fond of the game but finds it has some short-comings = a stealth attack on that game in order to avenge a less than stellar review on a completely unrelated game of a different genre on a separate system?

Can you name a single point of view expressed in the review that isn't in some way justified (even if it differs from yours?).

Seriously, grow up. As I said before "just an annoying fool".

urwifeminder3680d ago (Edited 3680d ago )

Just an observation handsome no need to get all shirty , I never said I do it as I have recently learned about the site . Seriously though growing up is hard to do happy that I annoyed the hell out of though. Bubs up

Angeljuice3680d ago

You can only ever cause 'mild annoyance' (like a slightly itchy scrotum), as I have a high tolerance for the deficiencies of the "thought impaired".

urwifeminder3680d ago

Like an itchy ring hey nice I am happy with the slightest discomfort I bring, I have a low tolerance for handsomeness and intellectual geniuses.

I sometimes think I must be the only person who doesn't use metacritic

RamboRabbi3680d ago

7/10 sounds about right to me, any reviews of this game that are 9 or above I just disregard. If you are going to give such high scores for a mediocre game then it's only going to make your review system look pathetic when a truly amazing game is released. IGN and the call of duty franchise for example they gave mw2 a 9.5/10 which means that when an actual good game gets released they will have to give it a score of 10 otherwise they are obviously biased in favour of a pocket full of Activision's cash.

Angeljuice3680d ago (Edited 3680d ago )

Agreed, if for example TitanFall 2 comes out with all the niggles ironed out, more great modes introduced, vastly improved graphics and AI, decent single player campaign etc whilst making it even more fun to play, are they going to give it 11/10?

By all accounts TitanFall is a great game, and one that's better than the sum of its parts but it does have numerous shortcomings, for that reason alone I think a 9 is unjustified.

EasilyTheBest3680d ago

Well done Maria, your day job is done, keep finding those lowest scores. lol

Vegetarianshark3680d ago

The most popular review for this game(AngryJoeShow) gives titanfall a 7/10, and went as far as calling it overrated lol. Keep grasping the straws tough, even hardcore sony drones still holds some truth to them.

EasilyTheBest3680d ago

The most popular review???
That is the funniest thing I have read in ages. lol

Although the late 2000s Turok wasn't my favorite, I would love a new entry. Open world survival with shotguns and dinosaurs. Not sure how we'd get the fusion cannon, but that would be pretty sweet too.

MadLad587d ago

Lol

All of these games are pretty much universally praised. Outside of Timeshift I literally own all of these.

Venoxn4g587d ago (Edited 587d ago )

XIII, The Darkness 2, Far Cry: Blood Dragon, Timesplitters: future perfect, Bulletstorm are awesome games

An ode to Titanfall: The last twitch shooter I'll probably ever enjoy

Windows Central: "Titanfall 1 is being sunset, taken off storefronts by EA. While the servers remain live for now, one has to wonder just how much time it has left. I look back and pay tribute to the last "twitch"-styled shooter I ever truly loved."

Physical media. Unfortunately the way games are going these days game servers will eventually be shut down and you can stare at the menu and wish you could play the game again.

littletad868d ago

This is why reading is so important. Nothing to do with digital or physical media. The game, which is online only, is being delisted because of DDOS and other hacker attacks. The case got so bad that only six players in the world log on. For PC. Rather than fix it, they continued to sell the game, broken as it is, and only now just decided to call it quits. But please, go on thinking what you will.

Ethereal866d ago

I'm aware of the DDOS attacks and that this case is not typical. This game would eventually have it's servers shutdown regardless of the current situation so that is a moot point. My comment was in a general sense and that there are instances in which games can be preserved physically when official support ends.

Let's recap your first sentence. I said, "the way GAMES are going these days" indicating a broader stroke than just this game. I agree, reading IS important. I was simply stating the obvious downsides of the digital marketplaces and online only trends in games these days. I could even make the argument that the online only offering which has allowed hacker manipulation has impacted the preservation of this great game. My comment is valid in the general sense and thank you for your permission to continue to think what I will.
