GDC: Former Castlevania Producer Would Love to Work on Metroid

Earlier this week, former Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi left Konami to start his own development studio. In a statement, Igarashi told IGN, "I've decided to break out on my own to have the freedom to make the kind of games I really want to make -- the same kind I think fans of my past games want as well."

IGN caught up with Igarashi and we asked, given his experience with making 2D action games, would he consider working with Nintendo to revive the Metroid series? (3DS, Koji Igarashi, Metroid, Wii U)

Oh please Nintendo hire this guy now!

Nintendo should scoop this guy up. Tons of experience, and nintendo needs more small devs. Would be cool if they kicked off a new metroid trilogy like they did prime, have a handheld game on the side like fusion.

This guy is literally saying "Hire me, Nintendo!". Come on, Iwata, don't let this chance slip. The guy knows of metroidvanias (as he's helped define the genre, lol). This is a golden opportunity.

Doing a 2D is fine.
I would rather Bungie-
-who has expressed a love for the franchise at a passed E3 (&love for Nintendo see walk-thru of their studios and they have Nintendo Swag Everywhere)-
-do a FPS Centered 3D Metroid.

Dear Nintendo,

If not Metroid, ANYTHING.
Even better, fund his new project. By the way, hire Ayame Kojima and Michiru Yamane along with him too. A win-win for all.

Psst... if you can hire the former members of the Konami Kukeiha Club too, EVEN BETTER!!!!

And thus returned the long comatose genre known as Metroidvania.

Let him revive Metroid Dread. Good things are sure to happen.

Let him do a 2d metroid and let Retro do Prime!!

Two metroids and release it as ONE game!

Please let a Metroid happen. Nintendo has so many good franchises that could bring to the Wii U, but for some reason they won't. Metroid, Super Mario Sunshine 2, Zelda, and much more.

So, he wants to do a metroid game...
But, and do correct me if I'm wrong about this, during the time when he was still the leader of the Castlevania series, he didn't seem like he was willing to push for a unique new Castlevania for the wii u....or the 3DS....
So he wishes to get the privilege in exchange for basically no prior effort, aside from mirror of fate...

Am i the only one here who finds his request a bit rude;, all things considered?
Now don't get me wrong; i would love to see him get hired o onto a metroid team, but a new Castlevania before he quit the company would have been nice....

Be careful he was under contract to make what Konami wanted and I believe he was taking off his own game and it was given to the west which is where it died.
