"It is hard to know what to expect when walking into a cheap, downloadable game. It could be a huge surprise, nailing every element and being easily on par with titles up to ten times as expensive, or it could be an absolute piece of garbage that does not deserve even a five-dollar price tag. Cube Tactics comes close to being both, but ends up being neither."
Cube Tactics is a fast-paced real time strategy game where you must protect your core while destroying your opponent’s. The randomly generated resources are shared amongst the players so you have to be quick when selecting cubes and unit bases. You can sculpt and build up the terrain to make getting to your core more challenging.
Welcome to the latest edition of Nintendo Enthusiast: Week in Review! This week we cover a lot of topics from Nintendo at GDC, the Wii U not being sexy which our bikini babe debates, Unity coming to 3DS, and much more. Be sure to check out the exclusive debuts of two top notch Wii U eShop titles: Hex Heroes and Sync!
Clicked for the pretty chick. Anyway, Wii U can still be a worth while system in the long run if Nintendo gets their act together. In a Gamecubeesque sort of way at least. Just release some good games....
Unity on the 3DS will be great because the more platforms I can reach the better.
Looks like the Wii u is going to have a big library of Indie games!!! im okay with that.
What everyone should expect is Nintendo at E3 to reveal games that ate pretty close to coming out. The difference between them and the other big 2 is they don't start to talk about their games until their close to release. Also I find it incredible that they show a game 25% complete and were like this looks like garbage then they hit us with a masterpiece.
Pure Nintendo: "Cube Tactics was a download I really wanted to like. It looked promising, and I was excited for its release. It has some good ideas and strong points (the music in particular!) but overall it falls short. For every minute that thrilled me (and a few of the single player levels did) there were three times as many that infuriated. Some may be able to overlook its questionable control, lack of strategic depth, and uneven AI, but they affected my enjoyment greatly. I can’t really recommend it even for multiplayer, due to limited players online (although I’m hopeful it’ll pick up), the lag, and no local multiplayer support. The best tactic I can recommend is passing on this below average game and avoiding frustration."
