10 Disappointing Games That Tricked Us With Brilliant Trailers

The crime is apparently as frequent as it is disappointing, and as such, there are a significant number of games that tricked us into thinking they would be great with trailers that were no more than flagrant misrepresentation. (Beyond: Two Souls, Dead Island, PC, PS3, The Secret World, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, ZombiU)

PS4 is a console which was pointed out in the article but still shouldn't have made this list. All consoles have minimal games when they are released to the market. It's not like the Wii U or XBOX ONE had a plethora of games at launch. Nor most other consoles ever released. So what gives with pointing out the PS4 exclusively as being disappointing? Personally I don't know a soul that purchased a PS4 that is disappointed with their purchase.

And "every" Call of Duty game? I couldn't disagree with that more. COD4 was arguably one of the best shooters ever to grace a console and all COD games weren't disappointing. That's an exaggeration.

BTW, what's with having to click through 11 pages to see the list? That's annoying / cumbersome.

I haven't got around to playing BTS yet. Is it similar to Heavy Rain?

But the Wii U did. About 26 I believe, 6 games were rated between 77% and 86% with 3 of the 6 being exclusive (sorted out of at least 20 reviews).

Only 3 games on PS4 were rated above 75% with only one being exclusive (downloadable too). Xbox One didn't have a single game at or above 80%.

PS4 and Xbox One may be selling well so far (Not really X1 anymore though), but that doesn't justify the quality of the game library.

I didn't think Beyond was a disappointment. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed it, although I thought Heavy Rain was better. Look forward to seeing what Quantic Dream cook up on PS4.

I agree. cant wait to see what they have cooking.

Interesting article. I would add Twlight princess if the article is not only for 2014 games...

Got the steelbook edition of Beyond at launch. Second greatest game ever made, in my opinion. I love everything about it. Heavy Rain was a bit more suspenseful and better written but I still love, love Beyond <3 .. also love Ellen Page <3

Assassins Creed 3, Dead Island, Beyond Two Souls and ZombiU were all good games regardless. The Ps4 shouldn't be on there, seeing as pretty much every console releases with no games. You could always get one of the next gen multiplats on it. Everything else I agree with.

Zombie U, definitely, while the game was pretty fun the trailer using CGI was pretty much UBISOFT marketing method these days: huge amazing trailers (Zombie U, ACIII, Watch Dogs) and downgrade later. Hope the final version of watch dogs looks and play half as fun as the trailer.
