8 new Batman: Arkham Knight screenshots have been released. The game is scheduled for release worldwide in 2014 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Fantastic :) Glad to see Barbara Gordon back as the Oracle Have they ever made her walk again in the comics...it would of been great to play Batgirl in this game. Suppose they could do it with the challenges.
Yup she's back on her feet(pun intended). He new Batgirl comics are pretty awesome.
If that's the case, it'll be nice to see Batgirl back in action. I also really like her as Oracle, so hopefully she'll get both duties within the game.
She's actually been walking for a while now. Ever since the New 52 relaunch. I thought Oracle was a much better character though.
Are these in game!? Consider me more hyped.
Could be. We got promo shots for Arkham City that were similar and looked like this: http://www.blog.gamedruid.i... So... maybe, hopefully? But the character close ups are definitely custcene quality. If you've played the previous games, you'll know what I mean.
@shin It looks like that on PC. Usually companies with multiplat show the best version. Which is LWAYS PC unless it's a bad port.
thats what i was thinking. it looks like a painting
Riddler looks like The Medic from TF2 in those Screens. "Zis... is unacceptable Batman!"
Is it just me but the graphics look more last gen. Lets hope the gameplay is more impressive than the graphics.
Donman- You're seriously saying that this looks "last-gen"? As in Xbox 360 or PS3? http://image.noelshack.com/... Perhaps last-gen for PC gamers, but if these graphics are for PS4 and Xbone, they're definitely far better than either of the last-gen consoles could do.
Thats one damn impressive looking game.
This game looks open world. Is it going to be?
Yes. It's 5 times bigger than Arkham City.
Omg can't wait. Cruising in that bat mobile.
is it me or rocksteady changed the art style to be more realistic?
Of course. Because it was "sexist" for her to retain any permanent injuries from a point-blank bullet to the spine.
Lets not forget this takes place in the DC universe, where there are cosmic beings, aliens with powers like Superman , Gods, Magics, etc. Anything can happen in a setting like that...
@dboyman I guess it could be worse. They could have had her be healed by Superboy punching the universe. lol
A positive comment from Fox le gasp o_o. Joking of course cant wait for this game :D
Epic as in Unreal Engine? I agree. I wonder what version this game is using?
They're using a juiced up version of the modified unreal 3 engine they used in Arkham City http://www.videogamer.com/p...
That explains the similarities. Not saying it does not look good. I love the two other games but graphically I would expect more from this gen.
oh god, i was wrong...the gfx look amazing this game will make my pc scream like a b***
I, for one, I'm glad to see aliasing on that first shot. They're most likely not bullshots.
yeah, noticed the same thing i can notice bullshot pretty easy now since we get nothing but them most the time from 3rd party developers what the minimum requirements will be ?!
The GTX 870 should tame this creature when it comes out.
More like, itll make your PC scream like Black Canary :P
Wowzers, this game looks amazing! Must buy for me and I regretfully never played Arkham City, maybe I should pick it up?...
Yeh, you should! Arkham City was a blast! :D
So I heard, I played 1 and loved it but for some strange reason jesus himself can't explain, I skipped Arkham City...I may have to play it while I can, next gen gaming hasn't ruined past gen for me yet lol.
BlakHavoc- Do new consoles typically ruin the previous gen games for you? Thats something I just never understood. Yea, the graphics always improve but the storytelling and depth of games seem to be going the opposite direction which is why retro-gaming is becoming so popular. A great example is I just began re-playing Chrono Trigger for SNES, which I hadn't played since it was originally released in 1995. And it reminds me that NO MODERN GAME can beat the awesomeness in games like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, the Ultima VII (PC), and the Secret of Mana. The closest modern game that comes close in my opinion was the original Mass Effect. The massive uprising of nerd rage over the final 10% of Mass Effect 3 was a direct result of how amazing the original was and how players became emotionally invested in the characters, their cause, and their world. Most development firms would kill in order to create a series that has such an effect on people because it's such a rare thing. Bioware made the mistake of either not realizing this or simply not giving a rats a$$, and their arrogance, lies, and betrayal of such a devoted fan base will not be forgotten. Anyways... back to your regularly schedueled broadcast, which I believe was Batman. Fun fact... did you all know the original Batman, Adam West, was a flaming homosexual? I guess that explains the tights and his young houseboy Robin. :) And before people go ballistic, I used the term "flaming" because off-camera he couldn't act like a normal human being and was notorious for the in-your-face feminine type of behavior that has created the negative stigma of gays and has resulted in a much longer period of societal integration than should have ever occurred.
I just start play Arakham City now and its amazing game plus I all ready bought Arakham Orgins only to keep me busy when I wait for Arakham Khnight😊
Don't let arkham origins put doubts in yr head if you don't enjoy it as much, it wasn't made by Rocksteady, so it's not up to the same passionate quality, still a good game but, nowhere near as good as the first 2 (IMO)
Arkham Origins is like the third Batman movie from Nolan. The game has qualities but has also major defaults, both technically and story wise. These make the game inferior to the two previous installments It's evident that it wasn't done by Rocksteady.
@BG11579 A disagree? Looks liek you upset some batman/nolan fans with yr comment. But I understand where yr comign from, a lot of hype was built up within people that honestly there was no way the film could ever meet peoples expectations coming out of the second film. I still enjoyed it, I try not to get riled up by hype trains anymore :) But I still understand your point enough to agree with you, I can empathize with yr feelings towards the 3rd nolan batman. I think we could use a bit more of that around here on N4G, Empathy :) But then again immature internet trolls are not known for their empathy :P
Just get Arkham City today, please.
Looks good, now let's see the game in action.
I wonder when it's coming out?...Hopefully this year sometime, I really want to get my hands on it.
I heard an October release date, we'll probably see gameplay footage at E3.
Looks incredible! I wonder if it's using Unreal 4
It's a modified version of Unreal Engine 3
Finally we have a god-like graphic using the unreal engine 3. https://www.youtube.com/wat...
this is most likely UE4 and not 3 tho.....
It has already been stated that it is the Unreal 3 engine just modified a bit.
My GTX 580 is crying... time for an upgrade for a 880 or 890...... when it comes out.
Dude how much would those gpus cost? Isnt it better just to get 780 or 780ti which will go down in price and max out whatever you throw at it! The 780 is a beast!
It depends. New series are either on par or outperform the last generation by one step, so the 870 will probably be the cost of a 770, but perform like a 780.
meh money isnt a huge problem over here in Norway. it really depends on how big the cap in performance is between the 700 series and 800 series. with all the games that looks better than many CGI premade vids looked just a few years back then the performance need will be alot higher at the start of those releases. as for a 780, i have already seen what it can do, and i dont think its worthy of an upgrade just yet.
MidnytRain- Actually that's not entirely true. Typically the increase in performance in high end cards is about 20-30% between generations, with the exception of the GTX 680 being 52% faster than the previous GTX 580, and when nV released the 8800GTX which completely annihilated every single and dual-gpu card available. It was well over 100% faster than its predecessor. By the look of things, and how incredibly efficient and fast the recently released Maxwell based GTX 750ti is... combine that with the added bonus of the high end maxwell GTX 880 (GM104) being made at the 20nm process as opposed to the 28nm 750ti, expect a MUCH larger than 30% performance increase. I'll bet the specs are very close to these: - ~920MHz (Base) / ~990MHz (Boost) - 3840 CUDA Cores - 64 ROPs - 512-bit memory bus - 4096 MB @ 7GHz The current GTX 780ti does 5.6 Tflops, and if these specs are true, I think we'll see close to 8-9tflops in this new Maxwell chip.
Recommended pc specs, i5 8gb ram and gtx 760 is my guess and that's just to run it med-high @1080p 60fps.
Right now gamestop and walmart are only ones offering any extra DLC. Regular preorder bonus is harley quinn with four bonusmaps, but for Gamestop its that plus a batman 75th anniversary poster, for walmart a prototype batmobile with "exclusive gameplay features". Was gonna go with bestbuy with all the discounts they were offering like a $10 cert combined w/ %20 discount but the discount is a huge rip its part of their gamers club unlocked membership witch only covers 2 years of discounts for $120! Im sticking with amazon, its usually a safe bet anyway. Can't wait for E3! forum post of unlocked membership info(incase interested): http://forums.bestbuy.com/t...
That 20% off new games is nice. But thats about it, everything else GS does better and you get a free magazine sub all for what $15!
Honestly didn't expect it to look that amazing but holy shit i'm hyped now.
looks fine actually
Why the Gordon change though?
It's been a while since Arkham Origins (If that's the gordon you're pointing out). He's probably aged a bit, since this is probably around 5-10 years later (don't quote me on that).
That's the point though, he looks too much like an aged Origins Gordon. When in fact it's suppose to be a sequel to City, where he looked like https://encrypted-tbn0.gsta... not that I mind much.
Now this game looks next gen. Very impressive.
It looks very good :-) my ps4 will love it October lol
Just picked up Arkham city on Xbox Live for 4.99 a few weeks ago. Very good game. The reviews were spot on. This one looks nice as well.
haha yeah! I bought it on steam for like $5 a few months ago, awesome game!
So far so good. Hopefully image quality in the final game will be similar.
Recently developers got used to such thing as "downgrading graphic" before release. So keep calm and don't beleive any of these, it would be better for u guys
You are so dramatic. The only game that "seemed" to have been downgraded is watched dogs. That whole infamous being downgraded from dualshockers was absurd and people quickly bought into. It was very sad and extremely annoying because the shots that they used were clearly not high definition shots. People believed without even trying to wait and see.
oh yes...of course... there was no Dark Soul 2 downgrade recently. no no no, i just see things
