A Metal Gear Solid game starring The Boss & Cobra Unit needs to happen.

PSVita1740d ago

He should have ended it at 4...why change the main voice actor and you don't even plan on being around.

moujahed1740d ago

Big Boss and Solid Snake are not the same person... So why have the same voice actor?

dcj05241740d ago

Even if their clones doesn't mean they have the EXACT same voice.

David Hayter voiced Solid snake, Snake and Naked Snake(beside in Mgs4)

MrSwank is right, he can't quit while he is ahead, So many characters, and a Old Big Boss/young legendary Solid Snake, Grey Fox... it needs to end on a Metal Gear 2(MSX) remake/reboot. 4 just didn't cut it, especially after playing Peace Walker.

He had his chance after MGS4, it ended the overall story he started with and the majority of the main plot points were resolved.

Yet he makes MGSV, ANOTHER prequel were it looks like he's forced another story in. Then he has the cheek to talk about inconsistencies with the overall story.

I mean he really had his chance after MGS4.

mohuzas1740d ago (Edited 1740d ago )

he was going to stop being involved after MGS3 IIRC, but there was too much backlash from the fans and he stayed there due to the pressure, which i think is stupid since he should do whatever he wants to do.

MysticStrummer1740d ago

He said MGS2 would be his last also. He may have said it before then, but you're right the fans explode every time he says anything like that. I'm sure Konami doesn't like him talking that way either.

Cernunnos1740d ago

He was not going to be involved in MGS3 either. MGS3 development was started with him as only a supervisor/producer role, but he thought they didn't do a good enough job without him.

To be honest, Kojima is lying to himself, he wants this "glorious" retirement to happen, but every time it comes to it, he sticks with what he knows.

Outside_ofthe_Box1740d ago

I would definitely like to see Kojima move on to something new, but I also wouldn't mind just one last MGS game that takes place between MGSV and MGS1 with Solid Snake as the lead for MGS6.

You could have Solid Snake again if they decide to reboot/remake the series so nobody messes or ruins Kojimas timeline.

Like do MGS again but expand on it, make it bigger, add things not in the original...I mean at the end of the day it's a new timeline so things can change.

When you get to the second game it will be more different since the first game would of happened or ended differently. Raiden could of been killed as a child soldier meaning it's up to Snake to infiltrate the Tanker and Plant by himself.....maybe you defeat Ocelot at the end of the game instead of Solidus and he gets away instead....changing the ENTIRE game timeline after that.

MG3 could be a prequel like MGS Snake Eater but you play as Solidus Snake.

MGS4...well....MGS would be totally different. I suppose in this time line they would make it that Snake discovers earlier about his rapid aging issue and Naomi or someone else fixes it before it happens.

The same reboot/remake idea could work for Resident Evil aswell if Capcom decided to start a a new

Outside_ofthe_Box1740d ago

I wouldn't want a reboot. Once Kojima is done with Metal Gear, so am I. But is it not possible to have a Solid Snake game that takes place in late 80's/early 90's under Kojima's current timeline?

-Foxtrot1740d ago

The thing is though whether we want one or not...it's going to happen. If they are going to do one in the future I'd rather they use the same characters, locations, story but in a different way.

sonicsidewinder1740d ago

I could dig this.

I can imagine the two original games re-written to fit this timeline.

The first game's form acting as a prologue, and MG2: Solid Snake being the meat and potatoes of the game.

I'd like to be more of a direct homage to Escape from New York.

I imagine "Zanzibar Land" as an actual country or city to be infiltrated. With characters that Snake can interact with. BUT this is a MUST: It MUST feature a strong 80's asthetic. Kind of like the filter MGS5 was supposed to have but ended up being too much for the consoles. (probs the older ones)

ritsuka6661740d ago (Edited 1740d ago )

Good riddance. Kojima have lost the touch with the MGS franchise since MGS4.

curtis921740d ago (Edited 1740d ago )

You mean because every game isn't a carbon copy of MGS 1? Pretty sure there's plenty of people that complain about that issue on numerous other franchises. If it's not one thing, it's another with some of you. What did you all do before you could complain on the internet? Probably had fun and just enjoyed games for what they were...

THamm1740d ago (Edited 1740d ago )

Lost touch??, I think Peace Walker is the beginning of a spectacular launchpad for future MGS

armogangsta1740d ago (Edited 1740d ago )

I don't see why people blame Kojima. The only reason the Metal Gear Solid franchise continues is because Konami just loves making money! Let's be honest Metal Gear Solid is money maker. Kojima agrees and continues to make more Metal Gear Solid games because he works for Konami. Simple as that.
