Max Level: Is Microsoft living up to the hype of their cloud services? First there was Forza and Drivatars and now there is the AI in Titanfall.
Almost all the things that come from MS are.
Again I was doubtful of Microsoft power of "THE CLOUD " . But I was hopefully that Microsoft could do what they claimed. That the power of "THE CLOUD " was ten x1 in "THE CLOUD". Now despite all I have read has said that the Internet infrastructure is to slow in the USA and Europe to handle cloud computing I gave it a chance. Now Titanfall looks last gen and it's 792p on the 10 year old Source engine no cloud power graphics. Titanfall A.I is dumb as a door knob running around in Circle waiting to be shot no sophisticated Cloud computing A.I. This is just more of Microsoft P.R SPIN machine bullsh#t.
BS its just PR talk and fluffy little cloud that I'm think MS must of toke the marijuana cloud
The problem has always been how it was presented. Cloud is able to help with CPU calculations, that part is true. Think of it like [email protected], that was the cloud at work running complex calculations thanks to millions of users giving up their own computational power. However cloud is not able to contribute to the GPU. It will not make your system faster and it will not improve the system by 400% or whatever ridiculous number was used.
and you just realised that?
It just might be. I wouldn't be surprised if it was..
Maybe. I'm a Salesforce guy so I'm fully aware how powerful cloud can be. Sony's Playstation Now makes me think Microsoft was not totally blowing smoke... we'll see!
So you enjoy using Chatter huh?....
Ha! If you're going to hate on Salesforce, Chatter would be the thing I bring up too.
Dude [email protected]%k these stupid articles I hate seeing them....this is what's wrong with this site...Is microsoft this...Is sony that.....
Um i hope you know most games are based with sony this and micro that right?
This isn't gaming news..This is click bait.
Funny thing is my cousin & my little brother are die hard xbox fans & when we have a debate they always bring up how the xb1 will have cloud servers that will make games look & run better on the xb1 & is why titanfall was exclusive to xb1 lol. I just laugh so hard at them & dont even bother explaining it to them because everything I say just goes in one ear & out the other. Besides I tell them all the time, im not here to try an convince u which system is better but at the same time I gave them enough info so they know because their my family & im just trying to look out for them. In the end its their choice & if they still like xb1 better then hey im not going to lose sleep over it because it ain't my money they spending.
Clouds are just hot air and vapour. Dont blame me, its science. I think its weird that for all the cloud talk by MS, Sony is the only one doing something tangible and beneficial to gamers with PSNow.
I can smell that BS from a mile away. it's hard to detect when it's around you all day.
For gaming yes, but you can save photos and shit, its like a big box.
Towards the mid of this gen we might see it being used a bit more in exclusives, they really hyped it up too much considering they have no really mindblowing examples of it being used. Its like nintendo releasing the wii without having wii sports ready, seeing is believing.
If the Xbox One needed "The Cloud" (TM) to power the enemy artificial intelligence (or lack thereof) in Titanfall, then something is really, really wrong.
Microsoft? BS? Nah, Microsoft has never pulled any BS. Like that always online policy they tried to pull. That was AWESOME!
I love how it's continually being proven to be the real deal, and how developers are praising it...and even MS said it would take a while for it to realize it's true potential...yet here it's all about "I knew it was a lie or BS, cause another guy on this board said so...I knew it"
Seriously you and Blaze up there man you guys really take the cake *Shakes head in disappointment.
Many xbox supporters bagged on 'the cell' and wanted instant proof of its so called worth. Now you pleed for patience. This cloud is NOT what you guys are banking on NOR is it as useless as others imply. Time will tell but the magic smoke isn't even granting parity. Better of just letting it be because the more x faction bring it up with no tangible proof, the more y faction will ridicule it for the same reason.
Of course its bs. You cant expect a system that does calculations in GBs per second to magically gain power from a remote server on a connection in MBs per second. It may do some streaming of certain things but in no way can it add meaningful performance. It would be like trying to play online mp on dial up.
For what they want to do with it you only need kbps, it isn't bandwidth intensive it is actually the exact opposite. We are not talking about video streaming and time sensitive operations here which require fast stable connections.
I didn't say that it couldn't be used for some things just that there's no way it can give the exponential performance boost they claimed. You cant put out a house fire with a hose the size of a straw, you might extinguish a few coals but over all as a total you've accomplished little improvement.
clouds look like marshmallows on the sky...but when you get near its just not fluffy as it looks..so i guess it is just BS to believe what we believe it is..
So far, the cloud in seems more like fog because i haven't seen nothing amazing about it yet.
Survey Says: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Its just a term MS tosses arround to fool people, " Hey it must be powerful its in the cloud ! " Franky they should of gone with something with some zing you know like " Quantum Co Processing Service " now that sounds like it would boost your X1, not " The Cloud " You can have it MS, im not trademarking it or anything.
Blast Processing > the cloud
I think that Titanfall is showing a good example of what the "cloud" makes possible.
