There haven't been many news about the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall, but industry insider Pete "FamousMortimer" Dodd, that normally has a good track record with his sources, resolution and frame rate are what many expected.
Because it doesn't use the cloud
Oh shii...them cloudzz
now i know the truth about microsoft and dem clouds its all part of their evil plans think about it they give kinect which is spying on you to bring your info to them they give us teh cloud to downgrade our AI by 600% the truth is Microsoft are aliens and will invade us soon hold your loved ones and pray and wait the end is near
30 FPS sub-720p on a twitch shooter? Thanks for letting me save my $60. Unacceptable for almost any shooter of any kind. I understand Bluepoint did the best job they could, and I commend them for give it a good effort, but I can't recommend the 360 version over the PC version.
this is still a rumor but even if it's true, what do you expect? MS paid the exclusivity so you will buy Xbone for it, not play it on the 360. I bet, the decision to make it available on the 360 and PC was EA's, not MS as they might have thought being an Xbone's exclusive might not get them too much sales, just like how they treat their FIFA and Madden franchise, making them available on almost all format available to maximize sales. can't blame them though as Xbone exclusives are struggling to reach even 1 mil.
Common now. I have to wonder, if this was a downgrade to make xbox one look better which makes sense considering the disappointing version as we'll. also possible just weak devs as I have never heard of the devs that worked on this version. I don't know why they wouldn't just downgrade the graphical assets to get faster framerate. This is all speculation on my part as this is just rumor but certainly seems fishy to me if true
"We’re still a couple weeks away from the release of the Xbox 360 version of the game, so there’s possibly still room for improvement" Lol game development doesn't work that way. There's no room for improvement at this point.
Damm I hope this is another BS rumor even COD runs at 60fps on 360. 30fps for a fast pace shooter like Titanfall is awful. Why all the BS conspiracy theories instead of the most obvious answer》If true《 it's because it's a bad port by Bluepoint Games. Microsoft has nothing to do with the 360 port of the game, other than signing Bluepoint to do the port, its probably unfair to be hard on Bluepoint since they've been working off making changes behind Respawn, weaker hardware and no beta on 360, hell everytime Respawn was asked about the 360 version they sounded like they were distancing themselves from it.
If a game like PvZ Shooter runs at 900p 60fps on X1 and 720p 30fps on the Xbox 360. Then a game that is 792p 60 fps on X1 should run in 30fps at a lower resolution. It would make sense.
It's a sad state of affairs when the website has this listed as "hopefully", like they want it to be true. I don't get why people just can't enjoy their games and skip the b.s.
Yes it does. So does the PC version
Who's disagreeing? Microsoft and respawnt said it themselves...
nothing is using the cloud there is more chance of bigfoot and aliens being real than the chances of the cloud being real
I think big foot IS blurry... and that's a lot more scary, man, somewhere out there is large out of focus monster running around... I miss mitch hedberg so much it hurts :(
you better tell companies like apple, google, and microsoft that investing billion on cloud technology, please let it know if your findings.
@candoa I think you arent getting what ezz2013 meant, servers are servers and they have been around for ages, the cloud MS have been talking about is supposed to perform magic on games giving them amazing A.I, increasing the console power by 3 times and all the other junk they lied about. We all know cloud servers work for saves and basic stuff like that and even hosting games but to do the things MS pretended they where going to do is magic. If the azure cloud was that amazing why has it had no impact at all on the games that use it such as Forza and Titanfall, neither are boosted graphicswise fpswise or A.Iwise, all it is is the same old server hosting we have had for a couple decades.
@EZ Yeah its called being in denial. And you have a SEVERE case of it.
@AngelicIceDiamond there is no denial on my part 1. i was joking 2. MS promised that the cloud will give games 600% AI and will improve Graphics which non of it is true and turn out that the cloud was just servers nothing more
@Axios The 360 versions is also using "the cloud". "All of Titanfall's AI is reportedly handled by the Azure servers, freeing up processing power of the Xbox 360, Xbox One or PC to "achieve more detailed graphics and the game's silky-smooth frame rate." http://www.gamespot.com/art...
Funny they say silkysmooth frame rates lol , they must have a different definition of silky smooth than the rest of the world does.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO L OLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL O LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLO L OLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL O LOLOLOLOLOL! That explains why the game's framerate bogs down in the thick of battle 40 to 50 precent of the time. Oh..and why graphically it looks like the best 360 game ever made. SMH!
Please tell me you're joking. The cloud is just dedicated servers.....the AI of Titanfall runs on them....it doesn't make outdated hardware any stronger. If the game runs at those specs on the 360....that's because it's a damn 360, not because of the lack of the cloud. You have to be joking....that's the only logical explanation for your comment.
This game is too fast at sub 720p/ 30 fps is going to be blurry mess.
It uses the same cloud the same way that XB1 and PC do. Respawn said this themselves.
If you didn't know, the people agreeing with you thought you were being facetious. Because if you were being joking instead of actually believing that, it would be funny.
Oh shit a Mort rumour. Well it's basically official in my eyes. Was fully expecting 60FPS but after the PC/XB1 performance issues at times I guess not. @Axios2 Looool here we go.
Frame rates dip on PC when titan battles are on screen also. It is an engine issue. Far from game killing.
Yeah, I think it is definitely an issue with the servers and the programming. I mean, WOW can lag when in large cities when it is 60 fps everywhere else because the servers cannot keep up
@nerdman67: FPS drops != server lag. FPS is 100% dictated by the client.
Makes sense... *looks at GZ*
Not to be an a**hole but the face on your avatar is funny.. Edit: I changed it from "i'm not being an a**hole but your face is funny.. " to that to be less a**hole so yw :D
Not a real surprise. Still gonna be a great game for those who haven't moved onto current gen yet
So surprising I was expecting 1080p 90fps with changeable Field of View.
I heard it's 1440p, 792fps
What I figured.
Well then, PC version instead!
Honestly, should get the PC version regardless. I'm not sure why anyone with a PC would be on the fence.
want to play with a controller and not against people using mouse and keyboards @Are_The_MaDNess can i make my opponents use a controller as well
you can just plug in a controller and you can play. worst joke ever bleedsoe9mm..... @edit: no but why would you ever play with an inferior way of control?
@Are_The_MaDNess too many years of console shooters can't go back , and would get my ass handed too me by people good at keyboard and mouse . no doubt keyboard and mouse is better thats my point
360 version was probably held back on purpose.
Evil Microsoft up to stuff yet again, right? Must have paid EA a lot to get them to intentionally make a game bad.
Or maybe the 360 isnt powerful enough to run titanfall at 60fps
yes its all part of their evil plans think about it they give kinect which is spying on you to bring your info to them they give us teh cloud to downgrade our AI by 600% the truth is Microsoft are aliens and will invade us soon hold your loved ones and pray and wait then end is near
I can't completely dismiss this since Microsoft a.) Snatched away 360 games to supplement the X1s launch titles b.) Delayed the 360 version of Titanfall so that it wouldn't compete directly with X1s sales 360 owners should be appalled by how much their console has been abandoned by Microsoft.
It's better than Microsoft's abandonment of the original xbox. That become a paperweight the day the 360 launched.
"It's better than Microsoft's abandonment of the original xbox. That become a paperweight the day the 360 launched." I get what you're trying to say, but that doesn't make it any better. I don't understand how MS constantly fails to support their platforms after their next console launches especially considering they only have the Xbox console to worry about. Sony and Nintendo generally have 2 consoles and 2 handhelds to worry about during the transition to next-gen, yet they do a decent job of ending the lifecycle of the old console, or building a great start on the new console.
@Twelve What Sony 1st party games are coming to PS3 this year? Honest question by the way.
Whether it be first party or not, exclusives are still exclusives. How many exclusives are coming to 360 this year is the most interesting question, first party or not. (I bought a 360 for Witcher 2 and...well, I've never had something to look forward to on the console since then, and I see I never will.)
Project Spark is coming to 360, that's 1st party. I guess since you couldn't name a Sony 1st party exclusive coming to the PS3 can we also assume Sony has abandoned their console? Or are we now counting 3rd party titles?
Project Spark is also for X1 and Windows. That's not exclusive. I don't see your point about 1st or 3rd party. Bottom line is there is much reason to keep a PS3 thus far even perhaps to 2015, while there is zero reason to do so for the 360 unless I'm mistaken.
So basically since you can't answer my question with one game from Sony, does this mean Sony has abandoned their console too. There is just as much reason to keep a 360 with their games and others from 3rd parties coming down the line regardless of whether they also appear on Windows or X1. Point is you and others always like to harp on about MS abandoning their console when you yourself can't name one game to look forward to directly from Sony on the PS3. I call this double standards.
I'm looking forward to many games on the PS3 that are exclusive to PS3. Drakengard 3 and Persona 5, to name a couple. Why didn't Microsoft work out deals to get those on the 360? Your emphasis on first party is yours and yours alone.
Those are great games you mentioned. I am also looking forward to Dark Souls II, Ninja Gaiden Z and Titanfall for my 360. You seem more concerned about what the 360 owners should be worried about than what you are most excited for on your console of choice. Maybe that should be your main emphasis as well as concern. This way when someone like myself ask you what games are Sony supporting their system as of now, after you claim MS doesn't do with their own, you can better answer the question instead of this long drawn out discussion.
Thanks for your suggestion, but your concerns and arguments continue to be misplaced and silly, as I own a 360. As I already stated above, I bought one for the console *exclusive* Witcher 2 and I don't like PC gaming. I practice what I preach and I buy consoles for their exclusives. Sadly, I've had zero reason to keep my 360 out of my closet since then. Owning a 360 is pathetic especially if you don't like FPShooters (like me). (I'm TheTwelve1212 on Xbox live btw)
That is some tired argument saying that MS had abandoned the X360 since launch. There is Fable Anniversary, Titanfall, Project Spark, plant vs zombies garden warfare, and every major third party games that will be coming out in the near future. What is Sony doing in support of PS3 this year? The Last Guardian???
@No_Limit: You're not seriously asking for a list of games that'll be on PS3 and not 360 this year, are you? I won't say anything about half your list being cross-generational or not even platform exclusive, or even first party. If that's your list of exclusives for 360, so be it. Just going down the wiki list for PS3 this year: Ar Nosurge Atelier Escha and Logy Drakengard 3 Fairy Fencer F Magus Octodad Persona 5(might lapse into early 2015) Tales of Xillia 2 Tales of Zestiria Yakuza Isshin By the way, it wasn't just "since" the launch of the XB1, it was BEFORE the launch. You know, how there was like one exclusive on the console all last year because the rest turned into XB1 games to pad their launch lineup?
Really? We're going with this now? When do the reptilians and illuminati come into the equation then?
Loool ikr. You would think the DF faceoff of the beta and the performance reports from Giantbomb about the XB1 framerate tanking when more than one Titan is on screen would show you the X360 will struggle like hell.
@n4gusername do you know how silly you sound.... Microsoft: "Oh lets spend money and resources on a port of Titanfall for Xbox 360, but lets held it back so that its a mess so people wont buy it..."
Funny but when I read his comment I thought he was just talking about the later launch date.
@MysticStrummer now that you mention it. I think you are right. :)
isn't COD usually aiming for 720p/60fps on 360? I can't understand if reprawn worked on modern warfare that they could not do the same on titanfall!!!
Respawn didn't make the 360 version of Titanfall.
Cod runs at 60 fps and sub720p
Because Titanfall is not Cod? Look, Titanfall is far more demanding than any Cod game has ever been.
Cod runs at 60fps so titanfall running 30fps is kinda disappointing.
Isn't Cod 1080p as well?
600p on ps3/360
