Nintendo Using New Artwork Of Famous Characters To Promote Wii U

It seems like such a natural, common sense move for Nintendo to use its famous stable of characters to promote the struggling Wii U, but the company has only now started to use Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and others to show off what the console can do. New original artwork showing the characters using the Wii U's unique features has been uncovered on Nintendo's Japanese website and for those of us who like new Nintendo art done in the old 2D style, these images are a total treasure.

Love this style of artwork. Something about it being so simplistic but charming at the same time. Hope Nintendo continues to use this style.

I love this style so much more than the 3D models Nintendo uses for most of its character art these days. I'd love to see more of it, but using it sparingly just makes it all the more special when we do see it.

It's such a shame that Nintendo are keeping these promotions within their little country when the Wii U needs global advertisement.
