A review of Capcom's recently released Resident Evil 4 Ultimate Edition for PC. The definitive version hampered by some performance issues.
As much as I was excited for it I never liked it. I tried to get through it a bunch of times but it wasn't scary and there was so much action that it just threw me off. I didn't know if I was supposed to kill everything or fearfully hold onto ammo. I may try it again one day but for now, for me, it's still the place Resident Evil died.
It gets better towards the end (there's a section of the game that takes place in an underground lab that's very reminiscent of earlier RE games). I'll admit that when I first played RE4, I was really put off by the action and the direction the story was taking. But it gets better as it goes on. I think I appreciate it more now than I did when I first played it. :)
