"PlayStation 4 Vs. Wii Global: Gap change in latest month: 1,824 - Wii Gap change over last 12 months: n/a Total Lead: 1,100,642 – PlayStation 4 PlayStation 4 Total Sales: 6,009,474 Wii Total Sales: 4,908,832"
For the life of me I do not understand the purpose of this comparison.
It shows that the PS4 is outselling the Wii at this point in it's life, even though casuals were going through that "motion control" fad at the time.
Are we comparing a mega powered current gen console to an under powered last gen console?
No they're are comparing the fastest selling last gen to the fastest selling current gen console and in a way showing that the ps4 is moving faster without the help of the casual market
I still think it's too early to even think about it surpassing 100 million units, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. But anyway, I think they DO have help from the casual market. The PS4 supports downloading games and in some cases even playing them (The Division) on your iPhone, Tablet, or computer. On top of that it's cheaper. Any casual would go for that. Not all casuals are motion control/tablet freaks, else the Wii U would be selling billions.
no, we are comparing one great selling console to another well selling console in the same time periods.
They cannot compare it although Ps4 is out of stock, it was not out of stock like the Wii, so this comparison makes no sense. If they had pick a time period where it was selling out but still had stock it would of been a better comparison. I know I will get a lot of disagrees, but if you were a shopper around the wii era in the beginning stage you would know ps4 and wii supply were very different.
