Rebooting a old franchise is tough. There are longtime fans to please, as well as first-timers to convince that it was good through an updated version. It’s a tightrope act of staying faithful to the source material while implementing new elements to freshen things up. This is even tougher in video games, case in point with StarCraft, Fallout, Tomb Raider, and so on. Thief has just gotten this treatment as well, and reactions have been mixed. It’s safe to say that it wasn’t going to be exactly like the old games, but the question then lies on what new things it brings to the franchise.
