Head2Head: Dark Souls II Screenshot Comparison (PS3 Vs Xbox 360)

Lens of Truth writes "Welcome back for another exciting Head2Head! This week we take a closer look at, Dark Souls II for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Although the Eight generation of consoles are in full swing, Dark Souls II is only available on the previous generation of consoles. With that said, we were expecting last generation graphics. On the contrary my friends, the graphics and lighting look gorgeous squeezing all the graphics processing power left in our Xbox 360 and PS3."

Why is PS4 and Xbox One not getting this?

SweetDangos1560d ago

Cause of a low install base. Give it 2 years then pretty much every game will be on PS4 and X1.

According to From Software, they wanted to release the game as soon as possible. As a result, the next gen versions were discarded.

I may be wrong but I have a feeling that another spiritual souls successor is coming to ps4. It isnt dark souls 3 or demon souls 2 but something elseand I believe it has been in the works.

I hate to say it but I believe that DS2 was a way to make some money in between releases. Its still amazing and I will love every minute...but this is the only reason I can think of that they would make a DS2 and make it for last gen only. Yeah, this gen has a smaller install base but it could have been made for next gen too.

They are almost identical, looks like you'll be getting a great experience no matter what console you're playing on. Prepare to die, again.....and again.

Yeah the PS3 one edges it every so slightly, not that you would ever notice really. I need to get this

PS3 is a little bit darker but besides for that the versions seem identical. An excellent sign of a great developer.

Look at the picture of the guy lying down.
The ripped clothes look more, well, dense and less-pixel-y on the PS3 version, and the gloves look more-detailed too.

Looks like the PS3 version takes the cake for this one.

Why the disagree(s)...?
It's a visual fact. Look at it. Pft. Fanboyism...

I believe the framerate is slightly lower on the Ps3 version but less screen tearing, all in all you can't go wrong with either version, or wait a few weeks for the PC version if you want the version with the best graphics/performance (although the infinite health/stamina hackers could be a pain).

I think this will be last year of P.S.360 releases, shift will focus next year onwards
