EA CCO On Battlefield Complainers

MP1st - Electronic Arts chief creative officer, Rich Hilleman, had some interesting and rather frank words to say about gamers who constantly complain about games like DICE’s Battlefield 4.

The story is too old to be commented.

All I got from that article is that people who buy a game and DLC have more right to complain than people who just buy the game, and that the guy quoted comes from a community use to lying. So he will lie as well.

Nevermind issues like buggy games on release.

LMAO....

"We watch our forums a lot, because we care what our players have to say,"

-That's where I stopped reading, can only take so much B.S. this early in the morning... EA & Caring, just don't belong in the same sentence ever...

@Godmars290 my thoughts exactly smh.

"Recorded at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business last September"

Last September....September......Se ptember.

How could this possibly be about Battlefield 4's reception? Other than the knowledge that the CCO thinks it's cool to complain if he already has your money?

I have to say though, does his explanation about lying make him sound like a crazy person to anyone else or is that just me?

I was thinking the same. I fail to see how an excerpt from last September is relevant to a game launched last October?

I don't get the CCO's statement either:

"You learn at a very early age that people lie, like a lot. So, as a result, I really distrust what people say [...] It isn’t that I don’t think they’re trying to tell me the truth"

No, that's exactly what it is. He doesn't trust, or even acknowledge, the consumer's point of view; it has "nothing to do with [his] objectives".

This attitude might have something to do with why so many gamers hate EA nowadays...

Right, Mr. CEO, people are only complaining to be hipsters and unique. It's not as if your game was an immensely buggy POS when it launched, and is still suffering from issues or anything...

I dunno why anyone who bought DLC would have more of a right to complain, besides the obvious of them being the ones to give EA even more money.
