If you’re not one of the lucky few that got their Xbox One copy of Titanfall early, you can still start selecting your favorite control scheme for when the game will launch in just three days.
I think i will use the 'evolved' setting. Im not a fan of the X1's bumpers, but they will be ideal for jumping, rather than taking your thumb off the right stick to press A to jump. Combine that with the "tactical" setting from Cod (switching melee/crouch buttons) and 'evolved' sounds perfect for me.
Better off with bumper jumper, won't have to take your fingers off the analogue sticks for melee attacks. It can take a while to get used to though if you're not familiar with it but well worth learning.
I rarely ever use melee and much prefer clicking the stick to crouch, it's how ive always played CoD.
I used the bumper jumper pilot control scheme during the beta. It's almost identical to the evolved setting except that the melee is on the right stick and B is to crouch. The left bumper to jump is invaluable in Titanfall. Especially when your bouncing up an alley to make your way to the roof. The bumpers could have been less clicky, well, all the buttons could have been less clicky. They're really kind of loud. Also, I had a problem with my controllers like they were going to unsnap from the seams. My extra controller and my Day One Controller were like that. Turns out there was really something wrong with them. I had to have them replaced. I'm still waiting on my Day One controller so I bought the Titanfall controller. I can't wait to hop in my Titan Monday night at midnight. I was hoping for a preload option on the XB1 but I found a work around anyway.
I don't understand why games even use control schemes anymore... I mean, why not just let you pick what you want for each button? I just don't like it when I'm forced into a certain control scheme. Though, it's good they have a variety in Titanfall at least.
It's good that way for tournament play but I do agree, I don't see what the problem is letting people custom map their buttons on the controller.
EVOLVE IT IS
