Sucker Punch not tired of InFamous, but may work on new IP; Would "Love To See Infamous on Vita"

Nate Fox talked inFamous and revealed that they are not yet bored with the franchise. He revealed the secret of great graphics and more, saying he'd love to see a Vita inFamous. (inFamous: Second Son, Nate Fox, PS Vita, PS4, Sucker Punch)

Infamous on my VITA would be great

Make it happen SP.

Pretty sure it wouldn't be them doing it, though.

Especially if they have success with this one, they'll move onto a new IP for PS4 for sure.

I'd like to see a different developer make an inFamous spin-off on the PS Vita.

"Pretty sure it wouldn't be them doing it, though."

Most likely it would be out sourced to a smaller studio specialized in the handhelds. My bet would be their sister studio (via Sly) Sanzaru as they already have a history with Vita games and ports.

As far as them looking to make new IPs, this is to be expected of both Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch as that is the reason Sony bought them. They have both proven they are willing to try new things and usually the new things they try are just as good or better than their proven works.

Sequels of good games aren't bad, in moderation. Too many sequels, too often can burn people out and water down a series (Call of Duty is the best example of this). By releasing 3-4 games slowly over an entire generation and trying something completely new with the next keeps things fresh and keeps the developer from getting stuck in a rut and releasing the same formula over and over again (Insomniac).

I feel like portable titles made from long-running franchises can never feel fatigued. The simple fact that you're playing them on a handheld makes them feel new and fresh. Sony should take these franchises that are being put on hold(GoW, KZ, Twisted Metal, Starhawk, Jak, R&C) and develop exclusive Vita games for them. It would do well to break the fatigue and build up some interest in them by pulling in potential fans from a system that is "lacking in games". By doing this they are benefiting both the Vita and PS3/4.

Vita needs more exclusives like Uncharted: GA and KZ: Mercenary were or PSP God of War games.
Not saying anything against the current catalogue of games, but we are missing some exclusives.
I'd love to see Gran Turismo on Vita as well.

a GT on Vita NEEDS to happen
Alexious  +   137d ago
Yes, but after all Sony only has a certain amount of internal studios. Either they trust some third party with it, or it's difficult with PS4 on the rise.

inFAMOUS Vita is perfect for a Kessler backstory...showing how the other Cole became Kessler and ends with him going back in time.

I could imagine it being like the first inFAMOUS but things would happen differently because it's a different timeline

At the end you would see the Beast show up and instead of fighting it you'd run with your family.
ThatOneGuyThere  +   137d ago
i plan on playing it on vita this month. remote play FTW.

Bring on New IP!
micx  +   137d ago
It would be interesting to see if they can come up with something. Or return to Sly. :O That seems unlikely.

A SOny IP on Vita? Sounds to good to be true, jk. Anyway are there even any big sony IPs coming to Vita
micx  +   137d ago
Nothing is known yet, I expect some reveal during E3, but for now it's pretty dry.
Inception  +   137d ago

Why you seem surprised? Here, i gave you the list:

Uncharted - Golden Abyss
Killzone - Mercenary
Sly Cooper - Thieves in Time
Ratchet & Clank - Full Frontal Assault
Resistance - Burning Skies

Next coming are:
God of War 1 & 2
Gravity Rush 2
Dead Nation

New IP that have the potential to be big:
Soul Sacrifice
Freedom Wars

I have a bad intuition that the next thing we're going to see from them is massive layoffs.
-Foxtrot  +   137d ago
I think they should make a new IP next then after that new IP they will make inFAMOUS 3 with Cole...I don't believe he's dead.

A new Sly game and then new IP. Screw the Vita no one will buy the game. The Vitas best game Tearaway, waste of MM's recources they could've been using on their PS4 game. struggled to sell 15k. Maybe we'll see a new Sly game alongside the movie in 2016.

I may have sounded harsh but oh well I am Vegeta the Prince of All Saiyans.

"Screw the Vita no one will buy the game"

inFamous on Vita will be awesome. I'll buy it and lot's of Vita users will do the same.

Yeah Tearaway sold pretty well. It's a game that only Vita can do. I hope they make a sequel despite it's not selling gangbusters.
Porcelain_Chicken  +   137d ago
Hmm, you might be "Prince of All Saiyans" but you know what you aren't?

Using logic. Tearaway did fine for a new IP and was a fun title to boot.
TheLastGuardian  +   136d ago
Tearaway was the one time we were actually lucky enough to have one of Sony's console developers make a Vita game and you say it was a waste of their recources? That seems really selfish to me that you want all of Sony's developers working on PS4. I say at least 1/4th of Sony's studios should be making Vita games. Vita is such a great system to play games on, you really don't know what you're missing. I've wanted an inFAMOUS game on Vita ever since the Vita was announced. I would be more than happy for Sucker Punch to take a break from the PS4 and make a Vita game.

I like Infamous. But I'm always open to new IP. Especially if there a couple of installments of the last IP
port infamous 1 and i'm happy, very happy
SpiralTear  +   137d ago
The Vita doesn't need any more ports. It needs great original games built for the system. If Infamous makes its way to Vita (which I'm hoping it will), it needs to be an original Infamous title.
feraldrgn  +   137d ago
This is what the Vita needs, a partner game or game set in the same universe, of the same quality obviously.
(Not a port)

It's exactly what I want.

The perfect scenario would be if Kojima made a parter/side game for Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain on the Vita too, because with an infamous & Mgs title, it would be FAR more attractive to gamers.

I'm with you on that. Side stories can add so much to the main story. They also provide incentive to the hardcore fans of those series to buy the consoles that they're on. I hope that the Vita gets some well-deserved love these upcoming gaming conventions and not repeat the last E3 where they did absolutely NOTHING for it.

inFamous is so good! However, I want a new IP from these guys. They're so good!
Inception  +   137d ago
inFamous on Vita? Screw the haters, just bring it on!

New hero or maybe heroine with different abilities from Cole and Delsin will be cool! :3
