Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Review | Tech Heads

Gabe Gurwin of Tech Heads writes: "Underwhelming conclusion aside, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 still delivers an experience that fans of the original game or Mirror of Fate will love. It may have some rough edges, but the base underneath them is still built on awesome combat and discovering plenty of secrets. It certainly won’t win over anyone new to the series, but it’s plenty satisfying for those who have been waiting over three years since the last game." (Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 8/10

I co sign this review score. This game is MUCH better than some "critics" are scoring it. While it is by no means flawless, It finds its place in the series. The combat (outside of having your combos interrupted constantly) is as good if not better than GOW. The stealth missions are out of place imo aswell as the modern locations. The game looks beautiful on pc (maxxed out 7950 oc edition FTW!) The ending will leave you wanting more that's for sure. Great game that should be receiving better scores than a 4/10 that some idiot gave it. 8/10 easy

Early on I was having a lot of trouble getting c-c-c-combo broken, but the trick is to use the dodge move as often as possible. Use it when you don't think you need it and just keep moving, especially against the later bosses.

I discovered that if you hit the enemy twice then go for a launcher you will get uninterrupted chains going. It's what I did after unlocking a few new moves.

I agree with you there. The game is great and doesn't deserve the ridiculously low scores it has received from some "reviewers".

Scores like that indicate a game that is broken and with very few redeeming qualities. Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 clearly doesn't fit that description. The game looks AMAZING and runs extremely well. The combat is very smooth and just plain enjoyable. The soundtrack is one of the best in gaming. The exploration was also great.

All in all I would have to give it something like a 9 out 10. I can understand that tastes differ somewhat from person to person, but I can't see anything less than a 7 being realistic for this game.
