Looks decent to bad its on Xbox One.
whilst never a game of the year, ryse was a really good game and was unfairly bashed by the "mob" or so-called journalists. go on any site though, and nearly everyone that has played it loved it.. cant wait for ryse 2
I'm not fully disagreeing with you... I played it, and it is really fun. But it gets old. Fast. Playing through the entire campaign becomes a chore half way through, and the multiplayer becomes very tedious after a short while. I think a sequel would have great potential, but to say that Ryse has been unfairly bashed, is a bit of a stretch.
It's a good thing a game gets judged on the sum of its parts. You don't just play a game for 2 hours, call it quits and write a review. The gameplay suffers from monotony as does its performance. It has its thrills in the execution animations, but those get old FAST. The journalists actually played the game and got sick of the gameplay and got bored of the cheap thrills. And it's unsurprising they came to this conclusion when the developer who made this game is Crytek.
Doesnt look like its gonna sell me an XB1 yet :(
Thank you crytec. New map, new executions. Going to work through this with my nephew after he finishes his home work.
Having bought Ryse myself, I'm really glad that I never opened the wrapper. This game feels like it's only good for the collector's value; selling it back to that 13 year old kid in twenty years is the only value I can find in the title.
I don't understand why you bought it. What were you expecting when you bought it? I knew from the moment I decided to get the game that it was a linier hack and slash. The only parts I did not like is when they made me die so they could tell the story the way it was written and too much carbon copy looking AI. Other than that it was better than expected. A less linier sequel with more scenery and AI, even more executions, and I would be one happy gamer.
I literally intended on buying it to hold. I have the "day one" edition of the game and I plan to have it certified in a hard case for collectible purposes.
Ok. That not that uncommon. Some people are big on collecting things with that bet of better value later. Good luck.
The game looks fantastic, but it's a shame the gameplay is so monotonous. Could have been a contender if it just had more depth. Other games in the genre like God of War and DmC the character has lots of different abilities and fights very varied enemies. I watched through the whole game on youtube of Ryse and I was stunned at how single-minded the game was. Leading up to the launch I was considering getting an XboxOne for Ryse alone but there were also many warning signals..
