J. Hugo of Kaboomshark tackles a subject that he's been fighting with for awhile now: the Final Fantasy VII remake--namely whether or not now is the right time for such a game to make an appearance despite a vast number of people demanding it.
An interesting read and he dose make a few good points. Personally I'm getting annoyed with these HD re-releases and remakes.
i won't unless they are rebalance the hell out of this game don't get me wrong, i lie to see FF7 in CURRENT gen console but it don't cover the truth that this game imbalance as hell, it's acceptable in PS1 era but now... nope
I'd be cool with them adding multiple difficulty levels.
If they remade it you have two big problems. the old FF fans will want the game to be as close to the original as possible and then you have the newly adopted fans of the series who will whine and complain as to why it should be like FFXIII. Personally I think it should take the approach FFXV is taking but have two ways to battle. ATB and just like FFXV.
I've thought two battle systems could save the franchise. But that is probably not going to happen. For one thing, it'd double the work for the programmers. For another thing, I can definitely see the turn-based side being just thrown in, and buggy.
While I understand your hesitation, I think remaking FF7 could be exactly what they need. Can you imagine if FF7 brought turn-based RPGs to the mainstream, TWICE!? Also, other than a graphical update, they'd have to be VERY careful what else they changed. You wouldn't buy a version of FF7 that looks BETTER than the PS3 demo (now that the PS4 is out)!? You'd rather play the original!?
