Why I Won’t Be Completely Devastated if Zero Escape III Is Cancelled

GeekParty's Mandi Odoerfer writes: "Recently, in a flurry of tweets, creator Kotaro Uchikoshi stated that the future of the Zero Escape series was uncertain. Although the series has always had a diehard fanbase, its sales have struggled, particularly in the east. Unless investors are somehow convinced that Zero Escape III will turn a profit, it’s as good as cancelled." (3DS, 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, Zero Escape 3, Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward)

I tried to get into these games however the extremely long dialogues was distracting and I often just skipped through them as quickly as possible.

"however the extremely long dialogues"

They're visual novels...

It's a genre that will appeal to a select minority like a number of other ones. Nothing wrong with that, but you should know what you're getting into before heading there and not really something you should hold against the game.

I enjoy interactive novels such as Magical Diary and Long Live the Queen on PC. Maybe it's the quality of the writing that gets on my nerves. Some of the things the characters say/do are just so bizarre. They're always getting angry and short tempered and stuff. *shrug*
