I can honestly say I haven't this much fun on a side scrolling platformer since SNES days... I'm not saying no other platformer has been good, just that IMHO I feel like a kid again playing this game. I think it has to do with high quality level design but also it just feels original and not a rehash of the same things we've seen for the last 30 years. It's just damn refreshing.

Never played a Rayman game. Is it suitable for a 5 year old, or quite challenging?

I have my 6 yr old who plays along with me and can do the first few levels but gets stuck when controlling murphy sometimes or lining up platforms. But, the levels with easy running and jumping she is fine with. In all honesty, the Rayman App on IOS is super easy as it just involves tapping and she is a master at that.

Depends on the child but I'd say a great game for kids 6+ and they may just redo the first levels over and over again.
