It’s seen better days as the genre is now lucky to see an entry in any given year. Gas Guzzlers Extreme (GGE), first released in 2013, and has seen sporadic rereleases in 2016, 2019, and now 2021 for the Switch and PlayStation 5 respectively."
COGconnected: Gas Guzzlers Extreme is a combat racing game that originally released back in 2013, but has now made its debut on the PS4. It's a drab and deflating experience that makes you grind a little too hard just to enjoy the better vehicles of the game.
Frank writes: "With a little more spit and polish, Gas Guzzlers Extreme could have been a great addition to the combat racer genre, but the lean selection of game modes, frustrating performance issues, and a lack of competitive multiplayer make it feel like an incomplete package."
