Well it's never happening then, or they have handed it to another developer.... which is it?

Development had never started. Ken Levine said that so far it was just an idea in his head. So if someone else created it, it would be an entirely different game from what it was originally planned to be. It's probably just going to be cancelled though. But if they do cancel it, hopefully they at least just port the original BioShock to Vita with some enhancements.

NO DONT PORT! The Vita is very capable but not that capable to handle ps3 ports. Have you seen the frame rate that the Jak and Daxter collection gets on the vita? I'd be lying to say it wasn't bad.

The vita needs a Bioshock built for the Vita just like Uncharted Golden Abyss was. That game looked great and the fame rate was pretty good

@fixay. umm no, actually. N4S mostwanted, virtual tennis4, WRC4, WRC3, MLBtheshow 12&13, persona4 golden, atelier rorona (or meruru), atelier totori-- are all ports, and of ps3 games (except p4g), and they all look and play flawlessly. w/e happened to jak&dax collection (ps2 games btw) was the devs fault.

@Fixay

You used literally the worst porting job on the Vita as your example. Many PS3 ports work just fine on the Vita, and BioShock is a very old game and it runs on Unreal Engine 2.5 which is very easy to run.

Sounds like it
Really would of loved a vita version
HarryMasonHerpderp  +   244d ago
I doubt it was ever alive to be honest.
They really didn't seem that bothered about making a Bioshock for the Vita to begin with.
ABizzel1  +   244d ago
Well Ken wanted to do it, but they got so far behind on Bioshock Infinite development that it wasn't going to happen anytime soon.

Now that he's with a smaller team it's possible, but not likely.

It never had much of a chance anyway. 2K probably wouldn't have been okay with funding a high budget game for Vita, which hasn't been very successful.

Well that's some hardcore false advertisment. Just cancle it. Stop all the stupid speculation if you aren't making it.
sprinterboy  +   244d ago
Agreed hate it when developers say these things when all they have to say is its cancelled or its moving along nicely.

Lol people still think bioshock vita is happening?
Yodagamer  +   244d ago
I'm surprised sony let this get announced as early as it did, clearly it wasn't in development yet. I guess they didn't learn for devil may cry psp and resident evil psp.

It reminds me Mega Man Legends 3. Games shouldn't be announced unless they are guaranteed to come out. Otherwise you are just getting people's hopes up.

Its obvious the Bioshock Levine promised will never happen even if Vita manages to get a Bioshock game. Unless Borderlands 2 is a success then it is useless to dream. Even if it is successful the best Vita can hope for with Bioshock is a port.

It will not happen even if bl2 is successful
2k sold milions of bl2 you think they will be satysfied with 500.000 ?
simple NO
vergilxx3  +   244d ago
It's never going to happen so people get it over with it
It was never in a development to begin with

Kinda like Oblivion on PSP.. Bethesda announced it, supposedly there was even footage shown but then nothing (for years) until they did confirm it was cancelled.
