PS4′s PC-like architecture and content void lure Steamworld Dig this March

Image and Form explains to Gamer Thumb why it chose PS4 - and not PS3 - as the platform for a HD release of its critically-acclaimed title Steamworld Dig.

Essentially, the developer is seeking to fill the void that is the PS4's PlayStation Store, while acknowledging that the console is easier to port PC titles to.

It hasn't ruled out a PS3 version depending on demand from the PS community. (PS Vita, PS4, SteamWorld Dig)

Lol, I wouldn't be surprised if this continued to be the case. Fast ports are more cost effective, the main lore of a PS3 port is the user base but with this being a gen still in its infancy with very few titles to choose from compared to what's on the PS3 it makes selling your game to a large number of people that much easier. Less competition = higher sells.

Easy porting
Self Publishing
Less competition
= $$$$$
