Soul Reaver Needs To Make A Return – But How?

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is one of those games that is an excellent candidate for a reboot or a remake. How would the 15-year old game translate to into the modern day? (Crystal Dynamics, Eidos, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, PC, Retro)

I fear it would be way too late to continue to Kain/Raziel, and not just because Hennig + Co have gone their separate directions.

I think Nosgoth has the right idea. Reboot the series, but keep it semi-similar to the older games. I just wish the reboot wasn't a multiplayer focused title.

Agreed, the story got so convoluted by the end a reboot of the exact game would just leave us wanting them to finish the original story. I think Nosgoth could have been so good as an entry showing us a location we are familiar with, at a time we've only heard about, but why did it have to be multiplayer? Sad times.

The greatest voice cast in the history of gaming cannot be replaced. And Tony Jay has since passed.

Hopefully it makes a come back with an MMO that has nothing to do with the series!

That was the joke...

No one could have possibly asked for this.

i would even settle for a HD collection of all Legacy of kain games. But a new entry would be great too

A Soul Reaver remake that includes the cut content from the original game would be great! :)

I loved Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen.
After that, I couldn't stand the series.

I hear you. The original was the best in the series. Soul Reaver fans won't agree, though.

I don't think Soul Reaver needs a reboot or remake, it's Blood Omen the very first Kain game that does.

I remember playing Blood Omen for the first time on PS1 and being blown away. The voice acting was stunning. You can tell that the dev wanted to do more than what the system or time allowed and that is why Blood Omen needs a remake/reboot.

Precisely . People forget there isnt even a Soul reaver mythos without first going through Blood Omen .

The ad thing , is while vastly different , when i look at Lord of Shadows 2 and its atmosphere ... i can envision how a nice Blood Omen action rpg could look . But with actual and strong rpg elements
