'Rayman Legends' Xbox One vs. PS4: 'Can’t tell the difference,' says Ubisoft

A question people always want answered when it comes to a game that hits the Xbox One and PS4, is what are the differences between the two versions of the game? wanted to know the same about Rayman Legends and had the chance to catch up with Rayman Legends' lead game designer Emile Morel and he talked to us about the differences, or lack thereof, between the two versions as well as what it has been like working on the PS4 and Xbox One.

Seeing as it's 1080/60 and 2D across the board, I doubt you could tell much difference on anything! Difference comes down to gameplay with this game, and the Wii U version arguably trumps all other versions in that department by including 2nd screen asymmetric abilities.

TomShoe1496d ago

Not surprising, it's not exactly a graphically demanding game.

curtis921496d ago

how is looking down at another screen benefiting anything or anyone?

Smashbro291496d ago

As someone who played the WiiU version, that Murphy crap makes it worse.

Concertoine1495d ago

Murphy crap is in all versions, its just a lot more natural on vita and wii u.

Smashbro291495d ago

Let me reiterate. The touch screen gamepad stuff was worse because it wasn't as much fun as running and jumping and because in single player the AI you're meant to lead around is an idiot.

What an incredibly daft question to ask to a developer when it is clearly known that a game like this is not meant to push hardware. It's like they're trying to force some "equal" footing regardless of the game - which means, in essence, the WiiU is just as good as the PS4/X1 because they all run a the same fidelity.

It's not like whatever is running on PS4/X1 right now would not be running on PS360. It's almost a flash game

mzupeman1496d ago

A cartoony art style doesn't mean this is as simplistic as a flash game. The ignorance you're showing here... oye.

Can't tell the difference with WiiU ,Xbox 360 and PS3 either,..

lol It is a 2d sprite platformer,.. Vita's version is probably the best looking of them all,.. because of Oled,.. and has all the touch crap (and zoom) built in (like WiiU version)

XtraTrstrL1496d ago

Lol, exactly. It is 1080p x 60fps on last gen consoles also. It's a very lightweight advanced 2D engine that can run smoothly on weaker mobile platforms even. So, it's pretty corny for this article to even exist. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Minecraft on PS4 vs Xbone either. That doesn't mean anything. Wait until a game like Destiny or Watch Dogs comes out, and it'll be right back to the real deal of Xbone lagging far behind and having to sacrifice resolution and fps just to survive.

Paulie_gualtieri1496d ago

Well that does't say much of Rayman legends, now does it?
