First Impressions: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Demo

J. Hugo of Kaboomshark writes "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow didn’t leave a very good impression on me back when I played it. While it didn’t bother me much that the game used gameplay elements from other well-known titles, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow didn’t utilize them well. Combat was rather static, there was a large utilization of QTEs, and the story and characters weren’t at all memorable. Due to this, I’m on the fence with the soon-to-be released Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 of which the demo is now available and I have tried it as you may surmise." (Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

The first Castlevania: LoS was a great gem, but just like LoS 2, the demo is a poor first impression of the games.

One of the main things i disliked about the first game, is that it's more hand holding than most games. Showing scenes of keys or that next platform section is unnecessary.

Something i disliked about the LoS 2 demo, is that enemies don't care if you unleash a barrage of attacks. If the demo is anything to go by, then combo attacks will be just as bad in LoS 2.

I do like that LoS 2 has the option to remove QTE's though.
