What We Actually Saw During Today’s Nintendo Direct

Disappointment, mediocrity, and straight up male tears lit the hypothetical B-TEN offices.

It was disappointing. I thought that the reason they are making those Nintendo Directs was because they wanted to make better announcements with more time and better done than something at E3.

If they are announcing that Monster Hunter is coming to US until 2015, why don't they announce more games even if they are not coming very soon? They have made like 5 Nintendo Directs with Donkey Kong, and this is like the third or fourth with Smash Bros. and Mario Kart.

As of now, Nintendo hasn't still made people sure to want a Wii U. Everybody loves Smash Bros and Mario Kart, but I don't think there will be a lot of people buying a console for those games only. They need to make people aware of what's in development, and what's coming in the future.

Also, there is wat too much focus on the 3DS for Nintendo franchises. Right now, there are a lot of first party games that are on the 3DS (or coming soon), but not for the Wii U. Games such as Kirby, Luigi, Fire Emblem, Mario, Yoshi, Animal Crossing, etc. A lot of Nintendo franchises are going to the 3DS! They need to focus much more on the Wii U since it doesn't have as much support from third parties as the 3DS.

If you dont even know what Nintendo is doing, your ignorance is making you sound silly.

The directs are meant to shed light on upcoming games. This isnt E3.

Wasn't Sega due to announce something at this event or have I got the wrong end of the stick and their announcement just coincides with this?

Sly-Lupin1617d ago

They announced a Sonic game a few days before, maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Found what I was thinking of:

Sounds like it was just a rumour though. :/

I think people were expecting waaaaay too much out of a pre-E3 presentation.
The Directs are meant to be updates and announcements ahead of time, and yeah, sometimes its reasonable to expect a bombshell or two out of them.
But really, who honestly expects to hear bang after bang on any Direct?
They're logically going to save their best stuff for E3...

I agree 100%, people get way too overworked about Nintendo Directs, people think its like E3. Either Way I still thought this Nintendo Direct was great. I saw some amazing trailers for Donkey Kong, Mario Kart and even Bayonetta. Overall I thought it was a solid Nintendo Direct

Thing is , by now we're supposed to get more than finally trailers out of those , when they themselves admit they were lagging behind .

In the end finally a date for mario kart 8 , yay .... except that it's so late during the year , that the other undated big titles are bound , unless wrong , hopefully , to be left for around sept/october or the end of 2014 .

Then you've got X , looking great , both in gameplay and graphics , as expected , but basically confirmed for 2015 in the west .

Wich basically means starvation for those expecting more all year long .

Careful , i'm not really among those , i basically cared for the wii U solely for those 4 specific titles , and the promise of some future for Metroid and Fire emblem ... but i can see why the "show" aint impressing some people

maybe you may not no that nintendo do not go to e3 any more a year oh go

wonderfulmonkeyman1616d ago

Nintendo themselves have stated that they would still be doing E3 shows, and that last year was just an exception.
