Ready at Dawn Made the Right Choice to Not Include Multiplayer in The Order: 1886

OnlySP: Much too often developers add unwanted multiplayer elements to games potential players believe will be full-on single player experiences. Sometimes these announcements aren’t even made until a month or two from release. We’ve seen it numerous times, with varying results.

How many of these articles saying the same thing are there going to be?

Theres literally two other recent articles talking about the same thing. They're under related articles underneath this one.

zeroskie1314d ago

yeah but look at the name of the website, they just HAD to say it!

PockyKing1314d ago

We'd be frowned upon if we hadn't :p In all seriousness I didn't even realize there were similar articles before writing this.

As a single player site though, it's good to make note of games that aren't afraid to exclude tacked on MP components for a higher quality single player experience.

@ pockyking

Last of Us had a stellar online component, I thought. I am still playing it. More than my PS4 actually. So, it can be done well.

PockyKing1314d ago

Mentioned God of War: Ascension and The Last of Us as successful in the article :)

im not entirely behind the movement to get rid of mp modes in these types of games, honestly the order 1886 looks like a fantastic game to try a licans vs humans mode. oh well.

NeoTribe1313d ago

Yes but why not let them put everything into trying to establish the new ip. They need to nail it and make it succesful, than maybe start thinking about multiplayer. Theres to many games with tacked on mp that should never had existed.

jimjam34421313d ago

i can agree with that to a certain point, i dont know much about the people making the order 1886, but naughty dog is a perfect example, they made a brand new ip not knowing weather it would be succesful or not, and put in a multiplayer mode (ive never played the last of us) that from what ive heard is very fresh and fun. if a company doesnt feel like the kind of multiplayer they would create is worth adding onto the game, i can respect that, but this movement from the gaming community to just drop all multiplayer modes from games (other than call of duty and battlefield) is not healthy, it lets dice and activision monopolize the multiplayer market, and monopolies are never a good thing.

Agreed (with title statement)

HighResHero1314d ago

If only to continue to set an example that not every single huge game has to have a multiplayer component, tacked on or otherwise.

CocoWolfie1314d ago

In my eyes, a story gives you the chance to tell a story, multiplayer is never needed to be great or to be remembered :p
