Garry Newman discusses the future of FacePunch Studios and how the intend to port their latest hit game Rust. And how the studio will always focus on PC first.
This article never should have been approved, at least with the title it has. There have been half a dozen articles that reported on this source over the past 24 hours on N4G, and all of them had the decency to acknowledge the fact that the ports aren't a confirmed thing--as the actual dev blog this article links to says.
Wait what? they clearly say they plan to port it
He clearly says that they plan to port it. It will only not happen IF they run into problems for some reason.
Facepunch are working on other projects and there was no evidence that Rust was going to be on the new consoles. Then Facepunch got some devkits people were making conclusions and then publishing them as 'rumours'.
I'll help out those of you who seem to lack the ability to either read, or comprehend, what was written: "...so might happen, might not. Depends on a bunch of stuff." He is essentially reassuring PC players (and mostly those who have already paid for the game) that the PC version is the highest priority, and even if they port it over to consoles, it's never going to take precedence over the PC edition in any form. It might not even happen, as he clearly writes in the article several times, including the quoted section above. They're playing around with porting it, but that doesn't mean it's going to get a release to the public. Devs do all sorts of weird things behind the scenes that we never see come to market.
Too early to get excited, seeing as Rust is far from being a completed game.
