Evolve Interview: "four's the magic number"

GR-UK writes: After getting hands-on with Evolve, we talked to Turtle Rock's Matt O'Driscoll about the development of the game, how they've balanced the action, and the reason the studio opted for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

"If we put in a fifth hunter it's just too much, the monster's just going to struggle to play with that many hunters. We kind of found that four is our sweet spot. 4 v 1 was where we ended up, because it's controllable from the monster side, but there's still that slight edge from the hunter's side, so we found that four's the magic number." (Evolve, PC, PS4, Xbox One)

"Four is the magic number"

I knew it was a safe bet buying the PS4 !!

Joking aside, kind of excited about this game. With the 4v1 gameplay, I hope they really balance out the monster vs four other aspects of the game.

I saw a video of how their is a trapper for example and how it can harpoon the monster to limit its movement. In capable hands, it might be too OP if there isn't the right checks and balances in place.

I am sure the devs realize this and will make it as fair and fun as possible, if not, there is always patches afterwards to make the necessary changes.

Looking to be a fun game to play with friends and family.
