Coming back for one more throw of the role-playing dice, BT Games finds out if Lightning can indeed strike thrice.
"Despite some issues, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is an enjoyable, highly fantastical romp and a nice note to leave it on before Final Fantasy XV shakes everything up." Well, what are these issues? This reads more like a PREview than a REview.
Its story is directly linked to FF13. That's always going to be a mark against it to many. Including myself. And then apparently, like FF13, its ending is unrewarding and lackluster. For both itself and its "trilogy".
From what I read, the quest are little bare bones and he clock can be frustrating. That's as much as I got out of it. They didn't go into detail that much.
These new fans surly driving me nuts , they are hyping this saga way too much besides i never heard of this website ? Very stereotype site >_>
I remember hearing that when XIII came out: that only fans new to the series liked XIII. Been playing FF since '95 or '96, and I thoroughly enjoyed XIII. Yes, Godmars, I enjoyed it for its story. Great characters in an interesting world(just because you don't like someone's personality doesn't mean they're not a great character in the context of an entertainment medium, but I digress). I'm looking forward to this game.
The review embargo isn't supposed to be over until several hours from now. I get the impression that these reviews were just rushed out in order to get as many views to their site before the flood of reviews happens tomorrow. Not much to see here. I'm around 25 hours into the game so far. While it certainly has it's share of problems, there are also a lot of interesting ideas, and for that reason I'm really enjoying it. I'm under NDA still, but it's definitely a game that I'm looking forward to writing about in the coming days!
Didn't IGN release a review yesterday? I thought the embargo was up the day before.
