Gamers love Pokemon X and Y, but a pokemon MMO is truly what they want.
There is no solution, Gamefreak won't do anything like that... It's sad too, I wish we could get one. :\ They're just way too reluctant to change things up. I mean, how long has it been since Pokemon Red/Blue? We're just now getting to 3D environments...
We technically got into 3D environments on the GameCube. Pokémon is now reaching 3D environments on handhelds. Edit: I just noticed something. Why does this article have a PC tag?
I know, right. :( It is sad. I would love to see this happen.
I'm no longer a fan of pokemon, but the lack of an open world 3d adventure on consoles is a huge missed opportunity. I think it would be pretty neat if instead of random encounters, pokemon actually inhabited different areas in real time. Make it an mmo, and I'd probably get back into it.
A Pokemon MMO exclusive to the Wii U, using the gamepad is a no brainer to me, it'd pull the Wii U out of its current state and into new realms. There's an article that touches on that here: http://n4g.com/news/1441034... I don't think it's impossible, especially as Nintendo are restructuring, and they do own the IP and can do essentially what they like with it.
I'd buy a WiiU just for a Pokemon MMO!
Nintendo is sitting on millions of potential dollars here. A Pokemon MMO would sell the Wii U like there's no tomorrow. Pokemon Snap 2 would do well, too. Edit: Agreed. I'd like real-time combat, but most people seem to prefer turn-based, so Nintendo should probably stick with that for Stadium.
Pokémon Snap 2 would be amazing. A new Pokémon stadium would be great as well. Or maybe a game that's akin to Pokémon: Coliseum or Pokémon: XD Gales of Darkness; I love playing those games on my GameCube.
pokemon snap 2 and pokemon stadium 3 would be amazing... come on nintendo!
IF they make an MMO, would you want the story to lineup with the original cartoon, the Red/Blue story, or something else? Go into detail, please. I personally would want to start out leaving Pallet Town and discovering the world. I don't want full-on turn-based, either. Maybe like Level 5's combat system? (Ni No Kuni/Dark Cloud) I want to go through all the stuff Ash went through in Kanto. Orange Islands, too. Huge potential for some gorgeous scenery. MewTwo would be insanely hard to beat. He could talk, too. Pokemon has tear-jerking potential, honestly.
Since we're talking about Pokemon MMMO's...i'll just put this here. http://pokemmo.eu/ It's an MMO in the Kanto region.
Is that a new one? Nintendo shut down the last one.
Nintendo just won't do it Why would they sell one game for $50 when they can sell multiple games with the same rehashed combat system for $50 Unless they put a paywall like most mmos $15 a month
Well, a large majority of the Pokémon fan base wouldn't play it. As a big majority of Pokémon players prefer single player and turned based combat. Even if an MMO came out, you could expect Nintendo to keep making newer games based around a single player experience.
One step at a time. How about a current console main series version first. They finally got around to making the N64 version of Pokemon in the form of X and Y. It was almost 20 years late mind you.
