Hardcore Gamer: Today the trophy list was revealed for Strider, which also confirms the inclusion of a platinum trophy.
Wow! I was hyped for the game before, but I am quite happy to see Strider get a platinum trophy.
This game is going to be a surprise hit, mark my words.
Double Helix has been on a roll. I'm looking forward to this.
Should be a blast. Glad it has a platinum, too. Gives me something else to never accomplish.

Sorry. But what is a platinum. I game on xbox 360
A platinum Trophy is a trophy that is awarded once you've unlocked all the main (non-DLC) trophies. It's the equivalent of an indicator of having 1000/1000 achievement points in a game (not including DLC). Not all games have platinums; some have a few trophies only, much like Xbox Live games with 200 (or 400) achievement points (again, excluding DLC).
To expand on what Yazter said, it is also an indicator of "value" and the number of things to do. For starters, developers have suggested that only Sony can decide which game gets a platinum and which games don't. According to them, only games they believe have a lot of content can get one, so having one instantly implies a longer game, though that is not always the case (Sound Shapes, Hotline Miami, etc). It also affects the number of things to do. M$ bumped the 200 total to 400 so developers would have more things to work with. This resulted in some games having longer achievement lists on the Xbox and shorter ones on the PlayStation. While I knew Strider had 30 achievements, that doesn't instantly mean the game would be considered full retail by Sony. Other games, like Double Dragon Neon, have a lot of achievements that never went to the PlayStation, so sometimes it's a mess. This largely happens because you seem to have more control over GameScore points, where as you have a fixed sum on the PlayStation, which allows for XYZ of each trophy type. So a platinum is a higher point trophy awarded for doing a longer (usually) list and typically means the game is longer in length.
Platinum Trophy ^^
Every list looks doable, but don't let that fool you. I mean, Lost Planet 2 only asked you to get every title. Then you find out that some titles require you to do things like be #1 in the world on a leaderboard.
