Uncharted 4 Well Underway and Looking to be “Tremendous”

Karam Elahi writes: "I know it. We all know it. Uncharted 4 is most likely going to have a jaw-dropping, stunning gameplay reveal at the Electronics Entertainment Expo this year. Uncharted 4, announced to be at E3 or not, will definitely be there in some form or fashion. But the wait to E3 is a long one, and we certainly live on any minor, meager updates by all those involved at Naughty Dog."

As always from Naughty dog :)

This was a complete waste of a news post.

People shouldn't be allowed to post stories if there's "no news" in the article.

LordMaim901d ago

There's news in the article. They're indicating that Uncharted is well underway rather than just starting.

Its no less news than "Microsoft Studios staff hint at wide range of secret Xbox One games"

mewhy32901d ago

Naughty Dog is by far the most talented devs on the planet. The Last of Us, Uncharted, etc. Cant wait to see what they can do with the enormous power of the PS4. Not being held back by trying to achieve parity with inferior consoles and being able to push the PS4 to the limits will enable them to really wow us.

360ICE901d ago

I agree, but since people seem to find it interesting it's okay. There are way worse things going on on N4G.

Blacksand1901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

If UC4 coming it will be gaming of the year like almost ever thing Naughty Dog touch.

I still need to play the first 3/4.

How does the Vita game connect to the series ?

I don't have a PS3 so I'd have to wait for them to be available on PS4 I guess or when I get a vita.

esemce901d ago

Just get a used PS3 as it's worth it for the Uncharted trilogy alone.

You are missing out big time if you dont play them along with TLoU and MGS4.

UC4 may be out this winter and you really should finish them by then, streaming maybe good but it will never beat owning the actual games and PS3.

I pity the fools that have never played Naughty dog's from last gen.

3-4-5901d ago

I've debated picking up a DS3.

Cant' stand Dual shock = main reason I've never owned a Playstation.

Being able to use DS4 with PS3 is a huge plus though.

There are a few other RPG's and a couple other games I'd want to get as well and I might as well get a PS2 BC one to play those since I never had a PS2 either.

I'd much rather spend the $200 on a Vita or PS4 though.

gatormatt80901d ago

You are really missing out on some great PS2/PS3 games. As esemce said, the Naughty Dog games alone are worth the purchase of a PS3.

With that said, I don't think I would recommend getting a BC PS3. That console is pushing 7+ years and I don't know how long it would last. My launch 60gb PS3 lasted only about two and a half years before I got the YLoD. I spent the next 6 months opening up the console to reflow it until the first gen slim PS3's came out in Sept. 2009.

I still have my 120gb first gen slim PS3 and it still runs beautifully. I'd recommend buying any of the first gen slims, since it still has the slot loading drive and would be cheaper than the newer top loading second gen slim PS3.

stumpa900d ago

Just get a used ps3 it's worth it just to play the last of us probably the best game of last gen or even all time

ziggurcat900d ago (Edited 900d ago )

"How does the Vita game connect to the series ?"

I believe it pre-dates the first Uncharted as far as the game's timeline goes. As an Uncharted title, i think it's just as good as the console versions. As a vita title, it's phenomenal.

Can't wait for another epic Uncharted

avengers1978901d ago

I love uncharted series, and really want them to make a game that's about Nathan Drake's kid... I see it as someone kidnaps Nathan and his son/daughter are trying to rescue him. I think that would be awesome

milohighclub901d ago

I don't know about drake being kidnapped but I like the idea of playing as his kid then in time their kid. Go through generations or drakes instead of a never aging character. Nd have already aged him quite a bit over three games so they can't just stop. He's gonna have to retire or die at some point. Maybe drakes kid and old drake go hunting pike drake n sully kinda thing.

Cryptcuzz900d ago

That would be cool and all but the whole Uncharted series is more about exploration/treasures and not so much like an action packed thriller movie (Even though there is a lot action at times)

On top of that, Drake doesn't have a son or a daughter (yet lol) so that whole concept would be all weird.

Irishguy95901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

Yay, another incredible looking set piece(Talking about the reveal section of the game when it's revealed at E3, since it's always one of their set pieces/Building collapsing helicopter/plane crash). I hope they steal some mechanics from Tomb Raider though this time around. Tomb Raider improved on the general gameplay department of Uncharted. Even though the set pieces weren't as good.

Hmm, Tomb Raider was like a cross between The last of us and Uncharted gameplay wise. More open, more tools and mechanics etc. It would be nice if ND learned from TloU and TR

hellzsupernova901d ago

you are pretty accurate. i hope the levels become a bit more open as well, a little more exploration giving you are an explorer.

lolCHILLbro901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

Before TLOU Naughty Dog was an underwhelming studio, now they are going back to that......... oh well guess i'll wait for TLOU2 instead of another indiana jones rip off

LAWSON72901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

@lolchillbro

You are hilarious, these are the people behind the highly rated Uncharted series, Jak and Dexter, and Crash Bandicoot. None of these are underwhelming at all especially during their time in their respective generations. Hell IMO TLOU was more underwhelming than any of these, mainly because the lack of innovation and creativity in gameplay and the only factors that were superb were the characters and story.

The biggest problem I had with it was the time skips along with always knowing (being told) where I was going and than time lapsing it to the area. It is already a linear experience why not at least surprise me with where I am going. It was like each part was me being told where and what we were supposed to do rather than figure it out myself. I was underwhelmed but I know I am in the minority (especially on N4G) and everybody else claims it game of the generation (even all time). I guess we all have are own opinions

ZodTheRipper901d ago

I enjoyed Uncharted and TLOU way more than Tomb Raider ...in fact, I didn't even finish TR on PS3.

Bathyj901d ago

I love having 3 levels of weapon upgrade. It would be nice if Uncharted pinched abit from Tombraider.

LAWSON72901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

I dont know if you ever played Vanquish but I loved the idea behind its weapon upgrade system where you had to pick up the same gun numerous times throughout the game. It may sound tedious but it was entertaining and different, though it did not do anything drastic to the gun other than stat increases. I do agree though Uncharted would be awesome if you could upgrade weapons similarly to Tomb Raider

Jaqen_Hghar901d ago

A man would rather them go with the Ratchet/Resistance 3 approach of upgrading with usage and having multiple levels of small increases before the last one gives a big bonus.

Dirtnapstor901d ago

Uh, I don't think ND needs tips from other developers....

air1901d ago

You are deep in that dark hole...

king_george901d ago

@Dirtnapstor

Exactly. I honestly dont think ND needs help from anyone lol. Let them do their job. They're good as hell at it

twdll901d ago

I'm sure it's gonna look great.
