Mafia 2 |Flashback Review |GeekedOutNation

Mafia 2 was a game released in August 2010 for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. 2K Games really did a number on this one hitting all the right notes and created one of – if not the best – mafia games of all time. I’ve always been interested in gangster (and by gangster I mean Mafia) movies and games (Mafia 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

What a coincidence...I finished this last night.

I really liked it (specially the nod to the ending of the first game). The story is great and the soundtrack is amazing, just like in the first game.

The only problem is the placement of a few checkpoints, which sometimes made me repeat a few long shooting sections many times.

I found Mafia 2 too short and not good enough for being a sequel to the first Mafia. The story and the characters were not as compelling than the first Mafia game... And they pretty much ruined it with DLC and after they got bad reviews because of DLC, they pretty much left they game half done and moved on, which basically ruined the game for me and I waited soooo long for it...

@kent,

I loved the game enough to platinum it on PS3 and also purchase it on PC. Great animations, good shooting and weapons with punch, great soundtrack, and cars with weight that handled perfectly. Couldn't have asked for a better game. I agree the DLC was worthless. Timed mission crap with no real value but the main game was extremely well handled. Top notch writing.

Good game, awesome story, a little too short tho, and doesn't have much to do besides main missions, you have to load back specific missions to free roam, but overall still enjoyed it more than GTA IV,the play boy posters are a nice touch. 8/10 from me
