Call of Duty: Ghosts Xbox One Patch Hits Performance

Eurogamer "Frame-rates lower than launch version. Last week Infinity Ward released an update for Call of Duty: Ghosts, designed to prepare the game for the recently released Onslaught DLC in addition to implementing various bug fixes, new features and balance tweaks to the title's multiplayer mode. The goal was to create a more stable and fairer online experience that is better suited for tournament play, but shortly after the patch went live players started noticing significant performance issues with the Xbox One version of the game, to the point where even "sub-20" frame-rates were reported."

Why o why1769d ago

optimisation needed not downgrades Infinity Ward....smh Guess some devs are still getting to grips with the x1 and ps4 architecture respectively

Qrphe1769d ago

X1 is all about "balance" so any little mistake throws the synergy of the system out the window

TheGreatAndPowerful1769d ago

Wow that's bad. MS and Xbone are in serious trouble this gen if issues like these keep popping up.

"the appearance of some screen-tear, adding some judder, making drops in smoothness more noticeable."

"Aiming down the barrel of a sniper scope can see significant drops down as far as the mid-30s"

Mr Pumblechook1769d ago

You mean the patch made the frame rate even lower than before? CoD Xbox One owners are being well and truly Xboned.

fines should be handed to devs who do this... rushing patches, failure to test them out and then resulting in hits to gameplay and what not.

not to mention incomplete games themselves but that's a whole different argument

Another patch incoming, to fix the patch

UnwanteDreamz1769d ago

Yo dawg we heard you like patches, so here's a patch for your patch, to fix the patch.

Better come before CoD champs, and adding LAN

Visiblemarc1769d ago

Man, COD and BF4 had way too many issues. I think given all the adaptations required for making next gen and cross gen titles, hitting launch led to completely rushed products. It sucks, but it just goes to show that even massive devs have their limits and games should never be rushed.

We need another great shooter in the platform so they can stop messing up like this then it'll be a great competition . Ho! TITANFALL is coming and then in a few years Gears, when they are all here we will see who is who.

Nicxel1769d ago

Sucks how their debut of Ghosts or even Battlefield sucked so bad. Lesson learned. Never rush!

ZombieKiller1769d ago

Who learned the lesson?

Certainly not Infinity Ward. They've been forced to rush out their games since MW2

T21769d ago

And hit top sales as well so why would they even care?... I'm doing my part won't be buying another COD until the hit detection and aim assist are fixed... and the game is stable and bug/cheat free.

Nicxel1767d ago

Well I'm not a huge fan of COD, but I can't recall other titles being as unstable at launch as Ghosts. I might be in the dark though haha.

Still playing MW3 (the best title in my opinion). Can't get enough of the 2v2/3v3 playlists. Love the competitive smack talking on it :) I probably will never buy another COD unless it has these small/team sized type of playlists.
