GamersBliss: Blizzard’s new FTP game Hearthstone is great, will eat your days

Ben Wright of Gamersbliss writes:
"The game itself plays almost like a simplified version of Magic: The Gathering. You automatically get one mana per round, up to 10, and each card costs a certain amount. Players go back and forth exchanging spells and attacking with minions until they go from the starting 30 Health down to zero. As an added bonus, when you beat your opponent you get a “Punch Justin Bieber” Mini-game!! (I’m kidding, though if anything involving inflicting virtual, or real, pain on Justin Bieber makes it into this game I’ll drop $1,000 on any in game purchases they want me to.)"

I'm not a huge fan of this type of game, but it sounds fun for people who are! Games that make you not realize how long you've been playing them are the best/worst.

I've never been keen on these either but I've played it since open beta went live and it's great. I play it every day now.

I started playing this game about 4 days ago and I've been hooked. It's F2P model could be a little less grindy and less PW2 as it's all about having the best cards, but it's so satisfying out-smarting your opponent and winning the game.

It does take a while to stock up on gold you earn but you can do pretty well with the standard cards you get.

I recommend you take a look at this site http://www.hearthhead.com/d... and try the basic deck builds. They're pretty good and have helped me win against people showing off their legendary cards.

It's really good, but then problem is, I don't want to invest too much time in the beta because my progress will only be wiped when it releases...

and yet I still keep playing :(

Beta carries over so you don't have to worry about that.

Kran1650d ago

It says that the only thing that carries over is the special card you get for using the store... :/

Now you're just being silly.

You pay to buy card packs, yes, but that's just like any card game in the real world...
