DSOGaming writes: "Marek Ziemak (gameplay producer at CDPR) and Maciej Szczesnik (gameplay designer of The Witcher series) have left CD Projekt RED, something that has been confirmed by Szczesnik himself. "
I guess they both decided to move on since TW3 is supposed to be the end
Yeah they probably have enough cash now to go on and do what they want. This isn't surprising with the rise of indie developers and kickstarter support. I am looking forward to seeing what they end up doing and I still have full confidence in the Witcher 3 development.
Marek Ziemak: "I would like at the outset to reassure fans of The Witcher - the third part of the saga will surely be the best game of the series. Design is long closed and works are in full swing. In the CDP has a team of extremely talented people , and it will ensure the success of the game . The decision to change the course of studies in the project was very difficult for me , but together with colleagues from the CDP we made sure that my transition did not affect the quality . I worked on the series The Witcher nearly 10 years. For a long time I wanted to take other challenges. 11 bit studios offered me a job on the games , which has long dreamed of . I am a fan of independent productions and accurately over such I now have a chance to work . I also have the opportunity to create a game from start to finish and have an impact on all aspects of them . This allows me to better realize , take bothering me topics and issues . I can also create games of other genres , he always dreamed of . I hope you will like it. " Full interview here: http://polygamia.pl/Polygam...
Not really , things like this always happen .. look at SSM.
Why the hell would CDPR be in trouble if the gameplay producer leaves at this point in production? He left to pursue his own goals, not because TW3 is heading for disaster...
Oh well.... Back to skyrim then, haha
Got a message about this from Evolve PR - the company that handles PR for CD Projekt Red and other developers - this morning, but I didn't have the time to put a story up before work. Honestly, I am not too worried. People do what they do, grow tired and then move on. They've pretty much finished up on the Witcher 3, so this should in no way negatively affect the game. It will be interesting to see what this says for Cyberpunk and if it will be a very different game in terms of gameplay and mechanics. I am sure they have some very talented people to take their place though.
Gameplay needs to be nailed down by now anyway so that shouldn't cause any problems.
Bit of a misleading title!
Two people leave a developer..? QUICK, write an ambiguous opinion piece that requires no real journalistic research because we can put a question mark in the title!! Phew, that was close, some other half-arsed gaming news site almost stole our clicks! /s Move on, nothing to see here.
Producers don't do any actual production, no big loss.
horrible headline very misleading clickbait
Design, Gameplay, and probably most of the assets or in place by now. CDP is probably testing, working on cutscenes, bugs, and polishing at this stage of developement. I wish him the best of luck and will be on the lookout for 11 bit games titles in the future. What this holds for other Witcher and the Cyberpunk titles is anyones guess.
